Wow what can I say about that? Truly dreadful one of the worse performances in recent memory the lowest point in a season of low points. I do not know where we go from here I really don't! I watched the players closely in the last 15 mins and the body language said it all, they gave up and accepted the inevitable. There is no leader out there no one who can lift the team and get them going, they all just seem to look at each other wondering what to do.

I am convinced we are the easiest team in the country to play against and that isn't an exaggeration, if teams press us and close us down we will give the ball away simple as that. To make matters worse we don't close teams down at all we allow them to dominate us. Forget about players not being good enough this bunch don't even do the easy job of working hard, I would love to know what they do in training.

So what's the answer? I'm not convinced sacking the manager is the answer although he certainly isn't doing himself any favours. He seems to have totally lost the plot and watching him at the end I have a sneaky feeling he may walk. He look a beaten man and walking out there was a few chants of Atkins out so he is starting to lose the fans. The worse thing for me is I don't think we have hit rock bottom yet I still think we may have even more lows. There is something not quite right and we don't know what's going on behind the scenes but I feel there is going to be more upheaval in the coming months.

Oh to be a blade!

I thought Port Vale away was the lowest we could go but today was just shocking (with the exception of Long and Baxter). We lacked pace, power, drive, passion, technique and everything else you can think of. Play was slow ,predictable and lacked any forward thinking

I am not one for sacking the manager but that performance (or lack of) must have put his position is serious danger

Just listened to his interview and just don't get where he comes from! We didn't really start brightly bury seemed much more comfortable, thought the radio Sheffield presenter asked good questions and mentioned the fans comments which caught NA off guard and he sounded very uneasy. I do get the impression he was having a dig as at the fans when he said "we have heard the fans react like that in a few games" then went on to say it's the first time we lost away since October. Which comes across like why are they acting like that when we haven't lost since October away from home.

Mr Atkins needs to be careful not to totally alienate the fans maybe he should watch it again then come out and say the fans reaction was totally justified.

Well I'll reckon we'll get hammered by Burton for one and look out for Clough's smile. For all his arrogance (I don't think he is) Clough should not have gone. Remember he damn near got us into a Cup Final not once but twice. And we let him go. Madness.

His problem was his intransigence over Collins etc. But hell's teeth the only way that would change is when he realised it. And he would have done. I don't think NC (or his late father) fail to consider and reflect. Of course he would have modified his attitude the following season. Clough is not a bad manager, not faultless but we will miss him I'm afraid.

Not even sure 'Sralex' (sic) could turn this Board and team around!

Not Baxter bm why ?
I thought he was trying to make things happen and for once looked like he was trying unlike the rest of the players. He was always making himself available for the ball and tried to get the ball forward. He wasn't outstanding by any means but but he wasn't shying away from trying to take some responsibility unlike others.

Who's Mr Atkins?

So.

I'm only just now in a positive enough mood to write this without going out and setting fire to someone. Which doesn't say much for how I felt last night.

I'd had a really shitty day, but for some reason decided to pain myself into listening to the match. Net result: I had to listen to 90 minutes of the worst performance I've ever witnessed - either live or on the radio/telly - where we got outplayed and outthought and justifiably beaten by Bury who, prior to last night, hadn't scored a goal in 360 minutes of football and had conceded 9 in their last two games. Due respect to Bury, they deserved it - after all, you can only play what's in front of you, right? - but come on. Even after 5 fucking years in this League we shouldn't be having the fucking league double done over us by fucking BURY.

Not doubting we were crap, but this is Praise or Gumble gold:

I've never seen anything like last night, confirmed the club is fooked fromtop to bottom, manager, board and players.
Loved it in the last 15 minutes when we kept passing it along our back 4, then Baxter would drop short, pick it up, back to the full back, back inside, then Hammond drops in, takes the ball of the centre half, then back to the full back, repeat then fade until the full time whistle, horrendous.

Disagree entirely. Yes, we did well in the cups, but after dithering for so long in third division obscurity cup runs were absolutely not what we needed. We needed a damn good showing in the league and to challenge for promotion. We finished 5th and got into the play-offs, but how far away from the automatics were we? Fucking miles off.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but I really don't think any is needed with Clough. We did the right thing in my eyes. This is a guy whose marquee striker signing now finds himself plying his trade in non-league, would rather play square pegs in round holes when players in that position are fit and available (Collins), and brought Jay McEveley to the club. The football was dire and predictable and was papered over by some brilliant cup displays (how many recall saying 'Why can't we do that in the league?' after Southampton & Spurs?).

So with the exception of Murphy just how much better are we now then?

What I fail to see is we have had three managers who have taken us to three play off competitions and so far the current manager is going to get nowhere near that. How is that progress?
