Perhaps, that was a stated reason I seem to remember, but they also pulled out of Oxford, Norwich and Cambridge, as well as cancelling a planned launch in Leeds around the same time. Basically I think the business model wasn't viable.
The fact that it was all probably a massive data-mining scheme in the first place can't have helped.
