Amid all the excitement about our signings which I totally understand , the fact that in the process none of our key players have left the club is just as important to me .

Whilst I never gave much credence to the rumours about the likes of Egan , Fleck and JOC leaving us , whenever stories like that are circulating it always leaves a nagging doubt in my mind , no doubt influenced by the scars of past experiences . Had any of them done so , it would have virtually cancelled out all the pleasure of seeing us sign such an exciting prospect as Sander Berge but the fact that they have not is a huge bonus for me and I'm looking forward to the second half of the season with great enthusiasm .

Oh , and I should have included the peerless Billy Sharp in the list of players I'm delighted to see remain with us , as I still believe he can play an important part for us both this season and beyond .

Billy Sharp for me has years in him yet. Sort of like Wayne Rooney back to Everton, he's still massively important, still quality, and in my opinion, will improve further as he's done every season under Wilder, look at his link up, it just gets better and better, goals might not be as regular, but you can rely on him if he starts to be a nuisance, great to have on the bench, great to have in the club.

I hope he stays until he hangs his boots up, and then after as morale officer/ striker coach.

I must admit , i did think , are we really bringing all these players in at such a cost without selling a big player .

Apart from the obvious financial aspect of a big money move , i think most of our regular playing squad know they are part of something special here.

It’s very hard to replicate what CW/AK are achieving here . The self belief , cohesion, and damn right hard graft is second to none .

All that along with the support of the owners bodes very well for the future . We really are on a special journey and long may it continue.

Everything about this window looks good. I'm so used to things like Waghorn and Devante Cole where we line up players who aren't even that great a prospect and then don't get them anyway because we get outbid for anyone remotely decent and a stupid price tag gets stuck on the back up. When the first transfer came in I just thought, great, that's our business concluded. Never expected we'd be ambitious enough to try and land all three, never mind do it. So to get those deals in place AND not have to listen to a reluctant interview about how once a player's head is turned there's no stopping them, well, I'm not used to it.

This is a position where the board usually looks at it and thinks, that's solid, let's consolidate and maybe push on next season. I still think it's a long shot but there's a genuine chance of European football at Bramall Lane and even if not that, a top half top flight finish. It's brilliant to see us recognise that and go for it full-blooded.

There's still that chance that the new lads will be huge disappointments but nothing will take away from the fact we're finally showing genuine ambition.

Agree in principle what has been posted so far. The club must now have serious plans for a comprehensive wage policy review, for players and back room staff. The medical, fitness and recruitment teams have had a big hand in what the club has achieved so far.
Given the trajectory of our player ambitions, Wilder can only get away with current wage policies when youth and potential are concerned.
Sooner or later, more experienced and proven players will be added to Balance the players we are buying now.
Next season should reward the players in line with the clubs success.

Think Like Freeman needs adding too given we rejected 6 bids according to Sky. Delighted personally.

The likes of Henderson,Jack,Fleck Stevens,Baldock, Egan, to name a few, how excited must they feel? Regulars playing in a decent side and suddenly bang, three new high profile first team players, it will raise their game, not I would suggest because they feel concerned about there place in the starting eleven but because of the excitement of playing in an even better team, going places, Europe maybe, but whatever happens the feel good factor has been cranked up and not just us fans the team will be fancying it even more.

Great post, and conveys very well the optimism shared by many. It set me thinking when a cluster of signings last felt this good, and I came up with Sabella, Matthews, Anderson and Finnieston in 1978. The future was bright. I am very close to sharing your optimism Isaw Joeshaw , but in the middle of the night these terrible memories just won't go away...

Hate to be the one to say it because I love the guy, but Billy is a top end Championship player. Heartbreaking, but he is just a bit short of the Premier League. Very glad that he’s on the payroll though.

I’ve heard loads of ex players speak on this over the window and they all say the same thing, they love being pushed, they love having competition for their place (because they admit otherwise you get a touch complacent and lose your edge) and get a buzz when a good player signs, just like we do.
