Proper Footballer, the sort of player we usually sell in January, now we have the Prince's money please SUFC build a side around this man over the next two seasons.

He is young and so far, quite low in terms of experience. Ideally someone with far more experience should have a side built around him. So far he has overall had a variable season anyway, but red hot at the moment it seems. He has Brian Deane`s birthday!

He is on form and has to be the first name on the team sheet at the moment. :) Its nice to see how well he has picked up his game, I wasn't very sure about him earlier in the season, but he's won me over this month.

Fantastic player and looking to be a perfect replacement for McDonald. I can only imagine how could we would be with both in the side.

He has been our player of the month for December and I genuinely believe that he will soon become an excellent CM for us once he is fit. Head and shoulders above anyone on the pitch against Oldham & Tranmere.

He is the best pound for pound signing we have made in several years.

I think he has got something different about him that McDonald didn't have, and he is a player we can build a top quality side around.

He's a top player but if I was Clough, I'd tell him to get into the gym in pre season. He a bit more strength as times he keeps getting pushed off the ball too easy.

Its not just the goals. He seems to have that bit of magic about him that KMac never seemed to have.

Jose is a candidate for player of the year already and will be vital in our promotion push next year (if he fancies another year of league 1)

Hopefully we keep him happy and my interpretation of the game changing money means we don't have to sell.

Would love to see cauvelier and him run the show but it's finding a system to suit. Some reason NC is not a fan of Flo and yes we haven't seen anything to be excited about but given what I've seen before he joined and heard from Walsall fans about him that could be a formidable partnership in midfield.

Imagining Baxter and KMac in the same team is a tasty prospect. KMac's best feature was his ability to hold the ball up in midfield and get out of tight situations. I think Baxter is a more explosive player. Better shut up now, because we probably have a low buy-out clause and I don't want to give Wolves any ideas!

Formidable indeed!

The guile and attacking threat of Baxter, the assured and tidy McDonald mixed with a decent holding midfielder (*gulp* Doyle) could have potentially worked beautifully in a 4-3-3.

Speaking of CM's, i'm usually a big advocate of McGinn but recently he has gone a bit anonymous during games for large parts. I hope it is fitness related.

Interesting point Lowen. As seems to be the consensus on here, Jose definitely has a touch of something special about him, and at this level he makes your average midfielder look like a bog-standard plodder.

There's no great secret in what makes a great midfield. Everton, years ago, had a superb midfield of Peter Reid (superb midfield general and could do the dirty stuff exceptionally well), Kevin Sheedy (best left foot ever!), Paul Bracewell (worked his backside off as well as being a decent all-rounder), and Trevor Steven (good set of attacking skills and could fly down the wing). What they had was chemistry, they complimented one another's talents, and each of these guys never shirked their team responsibilities while being talented enough to bring a high level of creativity to that side.

I'll be curious to see how Baxter performs at a higher level, where the game is quicker and the overall organisation is better. What Baxter definitely has is that rare quality called guile, and if we move forward and Jose embraces the demands of a higher level of football, we'll have a very special player on our hands. If Jose becomes the player we all hope he can develop into, who we surround him with will be what makes all of this possible.

He has shown great potential, young and he's our best chance!

When KMac left I wasn't really bothered as he only had one aspect to his game.

But Baxter is more of an all rounder who can play up front and in midfield. He seems to be constantly involved - corners, free kicks, goals. Keep it going Jose and take us to the promised land of the top half of the table
