Good luck to the lad.

Best remembered for that last ditch tackle in front of the BL end. V Spurs wasn't it?

Apart from that ... um ....

pommpey

No doubting his ability, his mental health ultimately his undoing. Sad really.

Scored one if the best FK’s I’ve seen v Oldham one Boxing Day.
Was there any evidence it was mental health? Sympathy if it was but thought he was just a bit stupid with taking MDMA if I recall. Still, some good memories and GLTLL.

Sadly a fool to himself, should have had a premier league career, hope he has sorted himself out for later life.

Good luck to him, undoubtedly he had talent but took a few too many wrong roads in life, maybe he is looking back and thinking what could have been with a little bit of correct guidence in his career.

Quite inconsistent and sometimes questionable workrate but he used to come up with wonderful pieces of skill/ magic and top quality passes.
Great on the ball, poor off the ball but he’s the type of player fans love to see.
Very talented player, at his best far too good for league 1.
Wish him luck and thanks for the memories.

Just as an aside, in those days we had a Jose, a Che and a Stefan playing for us and they were all British.

Same day he retires, Mark Noble becomes the longest serving 1club player following Messi leaving Barca

Noble isn’t a naturally gifted lad, just right attitude and application

Reckon Jose Should go self employed as a speaker to clubs with academy’s

explaining the crossroads you face and what those decisions mean…..

Fair play to him, only he knows whether he's lived the dream he had.

But i think if you ask any young fan if they'd take a football career where you play in the Premier league as a 16 year old, play for your country at Youth level, play in Premier League, League one and League two... play in a Semi final at Wembley and earn shit loads of money doing it all

Some people don't make it or stay at the top due to lack of talent. Some don't make it or drop off because of attitude.

Was the final goal he didn't achieve, improving his grammar?

He's achieved far more than most of us but that what if is something he will have to deal with for the rest of his life.

He was pretty much the only player worth watching when he played for us. Sad to see him underachieve but just goes to show you that ability isn’t the only thing you need.
Your memory is playing tricks with you ,one of the most over rated , lazy, disrespectful ,tosspots to take the piss out of Sheffield United. Anyone who went to Bury and many other games during his time at the Lane will back me up. Why is it sad to see him underachieve , when many other talented, football loving ,respectful hard working lads dont have anywhere near the chances he has.

Instead of telling his 13 year old self “you lived it son”, maybe he should have warned him not to be a dickhead and waste his god given talent. 🤷‍♂️ UTB

Yeah I was expecting summat more like that at the end than him congratulating himself.

Life is full of fine margins. Jose made some bad ones but who are we to criticise.

He is still young and hope he has a good life and achieves whatever he desires just like all all of us

Enjoyed watching him in a Blades shirt

The day before this announcement, Newport County's 42yr old Kevin Ellison becomes the oldest player to score in professional English football.

Good luck in your future Jose, but YOU threw it all away.
