Interviewed on RS. Paraphrased but basically we did make an approach but he hasn't really talked to SO'D about it !! When directly asked if he definitely wasn't going to be our manager or even if SO'D had had talks he just batted it back with 'I don't know, you'd better talk to Sean about that'.

I think we can presume he's had talks and we can also presume that the ball was/is in SO'Ds court. JR said it was SO'D who initiated the statement last night not him and as far as he's concerned he's going nowhere. He also went on to 'big up' John Carver saying how much we came back with spirit on Saturday and what a fantastic coach he is !

All guesswork as ever but it seems to me that SO'D has made certain demands that we can't/don't want to carry out and as such, he's declared himself 'out of the frame'. Would there be room for back-tracking / compromise, who knows, but I just get the feeling that JR is still not 100% confident himself and there may yet be a further twist after Monday's game is out of the way.

Prediction: If United appoint a manager before the Doncaster game, it will be Adams. If United haven't appointed by then it will be SOD.

I'd heard, not from the best source admittedly, that sod wanted to make changes to the structure at the Lane that we weren't willing to accomodate. That would fit with the backroom staff thing.
