John Lundstram 'set to leave Sheffield United in January'

I'd really be inclined to get Freeman back on January 1st and sell Lunny to Rangers asap. If they are looking to stop Celtic getting 10 in a row, then saving a few quid won't be their main priority. 10 in a row, they'll never hear the end of it.

I think Freeman has been unlucky. Him being injured at the same time as Fleck was really unfortunate. He could have really secured a spot in that period. He'd be having more chances now. I wonder if Chris regrets letting him go? He's a fan of round pegs and round holes. I'm pretty sure he'd be preferring the left footed Freeman to the right footed Lundstram at LCM, no matter how much we convince ourselves he is adept with both feet.

Who are we going to replace him with? A decent player from the Championship? This is exactly what Freeman is. No idea why he is on the bench, scored a great goal the other week.

When we came up, the midfield was Norwood, Fleck and Duffy. You can't get closer to that than Norwood, Fleck and Freeman. He'd be exactly the clever player we'd need. I'm assuming Berge would get bought especially given him Champions League comment this week.

Besides, it gives us a nice balance for now - Berge, Norwood, Ampadu, right footers and Fleck, Freeman and Osborn left footers. Plus you have Rodwell being paid a wage. He can't be so bad to occupy 3rd or 4th pick.

We can then maybe use that second loan in Jan and keep the money towards wages etc. We can't just keep spending.

Chris has his squad now. Let's concentrate on that. If Lunny wants no part, let's not cut our nose to spite our face for now, but settle it all in Jan so all parties can move on amicably.

Don’t think we can get him back from Forest, could be wrong but I’m sure someone clarified it around the time

but Wilder knew the Lundstram situation when he let Freeman go.

Freeman back would mean we'd have three specialist players for LCM. Without Lundstram we'd have just Berge as a specialist RCM. Norwood can't play there, and I don't think we'll be wanting to move Ampadu from DCM. I think Wilder will bring in a right footed player, possibly one who can do more than one role.

You don’t know the individual situation, TBF to Lundstrum if he has done the same as Duffy he clearly has acted in a way where Wilder has felt comfortable enough to keep him around

Maybe Duffy agent couldn’t get him a better one and Duffy reacted badly to it
True, none of us know the true situation. I find it all disappointing as most do and don't understand the personal attacks he has drawn ever since he arrived.
First game I saw him in was against Brum at home the first season back in the champ.
I personally thought he was a good player, comfortable with the ball to both feet but similar to the first time I saw Bash in midfield. So one of my hopes was that he was the successor to Bash at the back.
For whatever reason, be it money or something else, he isn't staying and wish him well for the future.
My comment was that sometimes things don't work out the way we like it and you end up at Fleetwood.
