John Fleck

He was one of my favourite players but now he is so far of the pace he has to resort to thuggery, wouldn't be bothered if he was sold at the end of the season.

hes not on his own im afraid i think at least 6 of this squad need to be moved on plus 3 or 4 deadwood weve also got major rebuild needed

A great player is Fleck. I look forward to seeing him at his best again next season in the championship when we have put this mess of a season behind us. Hopefully not another injury to hinder him and the team as a whole is a bit more positive.
Ok, so he has a good season in the Championship and let’s say we even get promoted back to the Premiership - then what do we do because clearly he isn’t Premiership standard. This is the problem the next manager has - most of our current squad are not good enough to play in the Premier League so at what point do we start replacing them ?

I said in the shoutbox that was a red all day long, but it wasn't given. A shocking decision because he could have avoided it.. He has a look.

Get sent off for a tackle, not shit like that. Forget the referee and var.. He should have walked, just being honest on my opinion.

I've not given up on him BTW, he'll be fine in the league below, I watch a lot of champ games, they don't compare to what we're having to play against week in week out in this division.. Plenty more to come from flecky, not falling out with him... Theres no reason for that..

Now.

Why can you only see another season of injuries and poor form? He should thrive once again in the Championship and there’s zero evidence to back up your claim he’ll spend large parts injured
You are definitely an optimist, we'll see but I reckon I'll be right

I'd argue that he proved he was good enough last season though. Not a world beater, but clearly capable and was running some games like we know he can. He even scored a few goals, which I can't remember him doing in the promotion season!

I think there needs to be a careful balance in assessing who should and shouldn't continue with us going forward. Someone like Fleck, who has had 4 outstanding seasons from 5, and had excuses early this season with injury is someone who I'd be inclined to give the benefit of the doubt to. I think we could have Fernandinho in midfield, and he'd be made to look average because of the muppets around him, and the fact our heads go down as soon as we concede.

Let's hope he gets some of that Irn Bru in him during the summer break.

We start replacing them this summer but not all at once. Just a few each transfer window for two seasons and then we can compete at a higher level, as these did for a season.

You have two seasons to judge fleck on for the premier league. A year where we were great and he was one of the stand out performers and one year affected by injury, a global pandemic and the rest of the players around him losing form. I'd argue the latter isn't the one we should judge him on.

The same goes for a good chunk of the squad, promotion is first. We can worry about the premier league if we got back up and have another huge wad of cash.

I am definitely a fan of Fleck, this season is an outlier in terms of form & from many past performances we know he has the ability. Where I have some doubt now is that his injury whilst training with Scotland was obviously more serious than was let on at the time, so how much has that affected his ability to be as fit as previously. He is a little chunkier now we can all see that & mobility doesn't seem great, but is that due to him needing a long while to get over it or is this all he can manage now? I for one hope it's the former, but it could easily be the latter.

At his best he's great. As Jimmy he's not. And I don't like the nasty streak on showed on Sunday.
no i didnt horrible crude challenge but i also didnt like le celsos reaction either stamping his hands and feet like a 4 year old kid mind thats the modern day footballer for you pathetic

Fleckyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. ❤️
Love the guy , needs to practice his shooting tho .

Some of the best midfielders in the world have/had a nasty streak. Admittedly not so much today due to tackling becoming obsolete. His challenge on Sunday was a red IMO but I like to see it in a player.

Dismissing John Fleck is ridiculous- they've all had bad seasons, but when Fleck plays good United generally win- he'll be super back in The Championship. I'd also say he can be a tough little player but no thug, as regards red card and those folks saying 100% red - absolute bollox- only Fleck knows if it was on purpose simple as.

The team needs a new spine- sell McBurnie (he's shit) sell Berge (he's just OK but if we can get anything like we paid - grab it) buy new Centre Back, Centre Mid, Centre Forward - we will romp it..

As good a servant has he's been to the club, we've got to start finding fresh blood and start to phase people out or at least try and push them down the pecking order. The mainstays of Wilder's team are getting past their peak and we don't want a wholesale rebuild on our hands. IF we were to go back up with roughly the same group as we have now, we'll just end up going round in circles with a team that's neither here nor there - too good for the Championship but not good enough for the Premier League.

Until we get a manager in place, then there's likely to be no sort of succession plan or idea about who he fancies, who he doesn't and generally any idea about what's going on. I fear that we'll take the cheap, easy option and give the job to Heckingbottom who I doubt would be a big draw for any remotely exciting signings.

Now
Coulibaly, Jebbison, RND, Cairney, Sessignon on loan.
Three of them will cost us nowt

Two of them paid for with change to spare from Berge's sale

Also got JOC to come back If he still wants to be a footballer instead of a boxer

Job done

None of them cost anything in fees except minimal loan fees and you can keep Berge as I’ve spent a least £30M less than you and I’ve 3 loans left.
It’s easy this stuff.
