Fleck is a different animal when he picks the ball up deep and drives forward, he creates havoc even if he loses possession. I think this a weapon we could exploit more, he should be encouraged to drive forward and shoot far more often from distance.

There's an element of simple passing and giving the responsibility to someone else creeping into his game, it all looks nice and tidy but it isnt really doing anything. It happened last season as well

Fleck is far more effective playing alongside Coutts. It's one of the reasons why the trio of Coutts, Fleck, and Duffy gave us such a formidable midfield.

None of which is to suggest that Norwood isn't an equally decent player, but it's a case of working out who should play where. Coutts' control and technique enables him to play short, incisive passes that allowed Fleck to move forward, causing opposing defences to be very concerned. Once we get Coutts back to his best form we'll see a return to range and effectiveness that we've all seen from these players.

John Fleck just needs to get back to being more adventurous and get back to dragging the opposition defenders and midfielders all over the place. A great player who looks like he’s been held back by something, I’m not sure what though?
