IMO perhaps more so than any other player Duffy is key to us playing well.

If he clicks and has a great game we look a massive threat and dangerous on the attack. If he's kept quiet we have half chances and look abit blunted.

Thankfully his quality is showing and meaning his poor games a few and far between.

How many players have been contenders for mom this season, Fleck,Duffy, coutts, scougs, sharp, eel and probably somebody I have missed, the reason we are having the season we are.

I meant the comparison in a positive way. On what I've seen so far, I think he could hack it a step up.

Oh I see!
I was initially a tad perplexed by the "League 1 McCall" quote.
There's no way that this guy is JUST a League 1 player.
Along with EEL he is exactly the type of player that United have been missing for an absolute age.

There's been a lot of bollox talked about which players are / aren't good enough to take us forward, but Fleckys case shows that it is probably a combination of (amongst other things):
The Players quality
Team work/ethic/motivation
Managers ability to pull it all together

Based on what I'd seen of Fleck on tinterweb I was excited about signing him the first time we were in for him.
Then based on what I'd seen when United played Coventry it was more - meh!

He looks different again at United this year, top quality, attitude and commitment- really pleased for him.

I first watched Fleck when Rangers came down and played Sheffield FC around 8 years ago.

At 16 years old or maybe younger he was fantastic. I have got to say i think he is a quality signing for us. Will end up many peoples Player of The Year by May next year.
Works so so hard for the team, which is something we Blades love to see.

He faded in the second half but he was again a class act in the first half. His passing is superb, one example in the second half, a 30 yards pass that landed straight onto Done's chest. The best passer we have had in the past ten years.

Playing with better players will help, but surely that applies to anyone who has talent and motivation, and it's clear that in Fleck we have a player determined to prove he's a quality addition. Given the way Scotland are playing would it be that much of a surprise to learn that both Fleck and Coutts are firmly on the international radar?

He played brilliantly again but he'll have to cut out the occasional loose ball he plays in the championship
