Had a bit of a dodgy start, as did the whole team to be fair, but what a player he's turning out to be. Might be on the small side but he's difficult to knock off the ball and what I think is a 'proper' footballer.

Makes good decisions, passes when it's on, turns his man when he needs to (1st goal v MK) and just generally picks the right options. Must be building quite a number of assists to his name now.

Has probably been MOTM or thereabouts for about the last 5 games too so he's consistent.

Think Scougall is the absolute stand out these last few games. MASSIVE credit to Chrissywissypoossnnugglebunnylambkin for seeing his ability and believing in it and to Scougall for seizing the day.
I do find the way he runs somewhat disturbing, but that's me being churlish.

Hands up who voted for him on the player of the season prediction thread.......

If he keeps it up he'll win that award hands down. But then we'll need to be promoted, or he'll be gone.

Wilder is using him correctly. He's not being restricted in any way.

I agree with everything except the bit where you said he had a dodgy start. I thought the football we played was bypassing him and he ended up with whiplash, fortunately CW made the players change the way we played to suit both Fleck and Coutts attributes, long may this continue because Fleck is different gravy in this league, it's fleckin brilliant! :)

Dont think he necessarily got off to a slow start but when he got injured and Basham played in midfield we started to get results, but since he has been back in midfield after Basham sending off, then he has moved into a different gear.
As well as his obvious passing ability I have been impressed with the defensive side of his game and a good example was v MK Dons where he was brilliant at defending. Coutts playing alongside him is also a great pairing I would say

Fleck is a joy to watch. Wicked left hoof, gets about the pitch, takes a great corner, a threat from free kicks, can time a tackle. I bet he gets paid a fraction of Hammond's wages too.

If we get promoted he'll be a major reason why.

Absolutely.

He's been fantastic this season so far. One of the major factors in our turnaround as far as I'm concerned.

Tenacious, good on the ball, pretty athletic, capable of scoring and assisting. A proper midfielder. Him being a lefty is also a bonus.

It's like if Monty could pass. Or McDonald could tackle.

Or possibly a a League One McCall.

Do you not think he could cut the mustard in the Championship then?
If anyone could in our squad, Fleck (& Billy obv) could I reckon.

I'm just going to say "playing brilliant".

I meant the comparison in a positive way. On what I've seen so far, I think he could hack it a step up.

Fleck could hack it in the championship with a blindfold on. Easily good enough for that level. In fact i bet there are a good few championship clubs already eyeing him up as a possible transfer target. Luckily i dont think Utd would play ball this season unless silly money was put on the table for him. He would be a good championship player and is proving to be a very good division 1 player. Think we had Coventry's pants down when we poached the lad from them. No wonder their fans were mightily pissed off.

Whilst I agree with everything there, can we please for the sake of our club say he's crap and make sure everyone knows it? :)

Think he has around 10 assists already, considering he barely featured in the first 4 or 5 matches that ain't bad going. If he adds a few goals then he could end up as our best midfielder for many many years.

There was a great moment on Sunday where Fleck played a quick free kick to Chapman and motioned to him to run at them, which he did and crossed for Freeman to score.

Actually that's a very valid point about the game bypassing him due to our awful 'tactics' in those first few games.

That was my point

Billy played pretty well today but how Fleck didn't get the MOTM is beyond me.

Typical Sky TV popularism.

Fleck was different gravy again today. Note how when Duffy suddenly started playing decent balls we looked like we were going to score every time we went forward.

Duffy came into the game really well but i thought his deliveries first half was shocking, fortunately for us he picked his game up really well second half and as you said, it coincided with our great turn around.

Absolutely and it's no coincidence. I think there's far more to come from him, rather than in patches that we've seen so far, and when he hits form, we will be difficult to stop.

To be more precise: we weren't playing Coutts in those first few games. I posted on here (and elsewhere) saying we needed him in midfield as he can pass. Since we've played Couttts and Fleck in that midfield we've never looked back. Duffy is also making a big contribution too in that midfield.
