Is he any good?? Never seen him play personally, but, apparently we're interested again??
UTB

papertalk. we will be lucky to sign robert fleck never mind his son.

Think he will end up in the Championship with Blackpool or Burnley.

They have Fleck.

Then we can have Matty Phillips again. :)

The general concensus in these parts is that Fleck showed absolutley nothing in the glimpses they had of him last season and if anyone offers any kind of reasonable deal for Phillips they'd take it like a shot.

Fleck down a division could be a different story however and, presumably, he was up the deal before the fax farce so I guess there's no reason why he wouldn't fancy it again. Would probably be guaranteed a start here whereas maybe not a division up.

and another potential signing bites the dust.
Are we going to sign ANYONE?

Alternatively I've just read on the Stir that Rangers may seek compensation from the clubs that sign players who refuse to sign for the newco and go elsewhere. Not defending our summer transfer activity, but perhaps as we are skint, we don't want to take a risk on coughing up (potentially) over exagerated compo later in the season.

Coventry have taken legal advice and perhaps we did too and thought it not worth the risk.

I'm merely speculating, based on what I read.

SwissBlade true, but Rangers (newco) announced that Coventry had struck a deal with them for Fleck. It might be that we didn't consider the deal they offered to be worth it. In addition, he's an attacking midfielder and I'm not sure where he'd fit into Wilson's rigid 4-4-2.

Oh, and John Fleck. From the next big thing at Rangers (debut at 16) to Coventry City in League One: that's a fall from grace. Maybe we're waiting for Coventry to go bust before we sign him?

I think we are struggling to afford a Fleck of dust, never mind the player.

:tumbleweed:

Is he that good? its not like we have failed to sign Torres or Gomez is it

There will be no legal comebacks, Green is just trying to scare other clubs away. Under TUPE legislation the same terms and conditions have to be available within the new company as with old company therefore with Rangers New Co where contracts are not being transferred the employees are free to leave.

Yep otherwise Naismith wouldn't of signed for Everton etc.

We are being linked with this lad again as well as Baker.

Lazy journalism, (on the Fleck one anyway) we've been linked before, we need a new midfielder, Coventry need to sell a few and someone has remembered Fleck and Wier played together at Rangers....
