I'm 31 and he gave me one of the best moments ever, scoring at Hillsborough!

One of the best midfielders I've witnessed at Lane after Michael Brown.

I'd hope that he'd tear it up in League Two if he signed for them but doesn't half show a steep decline from the player he was for us in 2019/20 as one of the best box-to-box midfielders in the Premier League for a while.

I imagine it’s a locality thing, if they’ve settled in South Sheffield then it makes sense to earn a bit and not have to travel far if he can.

Surprised Sharp didn’t sign for Chesterfield for commuting reasons but I understand the pull of Doncaster for him.

The three you have all mentioned live in Sheff, have kids at school in Sheff - and interestingly... all have sons at the same junior footy team. Imagine the DNA in that team - Quinn, Sharpe, Fleck. Class.

As we have said many times those injuries one after another including his collapse on the pitch at Reading was the end of him being able to play at the upper echelons of the football league.

I am fairly sure his injury problems started as soon as he did his back on international duty with Scotland?

Yeah, my daughter played against Sharp’s youngest lad and loves to remind me that she put him on the deck with a tackle once

Quinn’s lad was at Porter at one point and she played against him.

I know Fleck and Sharp’s older lads were the age group below my eldest son.

Incidentally I just had an email that Sharp is shutting his ‘academy’ down. I always wondered how he made money and obviously it’s not.

What a player. Had his medical issues as well didn't he, at least two "fits" as far as we know.

The loss of pace and drive should be okay in League 2 if he's still got the general fitness (and adapts his game slightly). Class is permanent after all.

Forced off after 20 mins tonight for chesterfield, 30 mins all season. Sadly think the lads time on the pitch is coming to an end/ has finished. He never really recovered from Those leg breaks
