Good post , but you needn't have been so derisory about " spent sex"

As you will find out , it comes to us all eventually.

Ha......well spotted for that bit of carelessness on my part. I must try and include more casual sex comments in future, we'll see who's as attentive as yourself Joe.

I've just bought a new mobile phone.

Last June when it was released it had a price of £ 380.

If I had bought it on a contract then I suspect I would have paid around £ 450 (including the credit/interest)

A new model of this phone is about to be released so the price has dropped.

I actually paid £ 200, but that included £8 delivery.

So do I have a £ 450 phone or a £ 192 phone ?

The only value that anything has is what someone else is prepared to pay for it.

Some will regale in saying that we have bought a £4 Million pound player, that we are a big spending club and that shows our ambition.

Some will say we have bought a £1-2 million pound player and how prudent and wise all involved are.

Some will say we have only bought a £1-2 million pound player which shows how little ambition we have and the board are tight wads.

Some will ask, have we bought a 2 million pound player or a 4 million pound player.

Some will just say I hope he turns out to be as good or better than hoped for and we don't leak as many goals as we did last year no matter what we paid for him.

And that he scores a few from set pieces. :)

Brentford usually get decent money for players. There is no way they would have sold Egan for £600,000 plus the adds on mentioned by the pig. It's not like his contract was running out.

United including 'crazy add ons' in transfer fees, I heard every time Egen's name is spelled incorrectly on a forum Brentford get another £100k!

There was a similar deal for Lundstram that has actually made that our record transfer fee paid.

If that's true then just why the fuck would we announce it as a record signing?
If it’s true, and logic would indicate it’s not, can you really not work out why we would announce it?
Can you not think of reasons why SUFC and Brentford would want to report a club record fee?

If this were true it would mean we have done the deal of the century and we should all be even more thrilled than we are already.

Frankly it can’t be true. If he was available for that fee up front every team in the Championship would have been queuing up to sign him.

heh . it's a win win for us.
either it is a record signing and shows we have serious aspirations.. OR
we got one of the best defenders in the division for a pittance
take your pick Pigs :D

i despair at the depths these people will go to i really do. they have zero class.

No chance. None. £600K down? Brentford don't let their players go on the cheap. Wednesday have been after a CB like Egan for several seasons, but have been quoted figures well in excess of £4 mil, which is why they didn't land one. There seems to be a reluctance to spend on defenders, yet money seemed to be no object elsewhere. Frankly, if the Blades did pay 4 then that's not a bad price in today's market.

Well , you could always try repeating " they just couldn't swallow ....." W'eve all come across them , haven't we ?

( No pun intended )

So here you have it, the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth:

Porktalk:
If you go & take a gander on porktalk you do get a sense of unsettlement/jealousy because of the amount of money being wafted around and the fact that there's no activity going on on their side

"Egan has cost £600,000 up front. There is no guaranteed money on top of this. The fee is £600k - although there are add ons, of which the only add ons that will absolutely come to fruition are if he makes 60 appearances for the blades, and also if he achieves promotion whilst under contract.

The add ons could potentially reach £4m however the likelihood of this? Is the dude going to reach 20 caps? Are SUFC going to get promoted in the lifespan of this contract? Will he score in 10% of the games he plays (Yes, that is a part of the contract - if he scores in 10% of the games he plays for the duration of his contract, SUFC will have to pay out to Brentford!)

How do I know this?

HA! SUFC you have a mole, well, actually no you don't - you have an imbecile of a woman who likes to blurt all and sundry whilst she is drunk at a certain extra curricular activity for her daughter.

This happened tonight. It was surreal.

I'm not even joking - this bint did not shut up, for almost an hour! I have some right material on the blades and no offence, but I will be dining out on it for months - it was good stuff !!!"

All I can say to that is:

I don't know why said porker is laughing? If that is remotely true, then Wilders a fkin GENIUS :D

I believe the deal will rise up to £4million.

But there will probably be a few million guaranteed.

Seems like a good source this pig fan is quoting.

Even if true, then I fail to see what the punchline is? Most thought £4m was good business in this climate for a player of his calibre, so if it is less then that's great.

The undertone of the Pig's post is "ha, you lot didn't get your record signing afterall, so stop going on about it".

...I'd rather spend less money on a player, pal. If you're offering me £4m worth of player for £600k, I'm laughing. In Wilder we trust.

In pigonomics the formula is "more expensive = better", long may they continue to pay over the odds for players and also reward them with expensive contracts, if they're allowed to that is.

Only a fan of Rusty Embargo FC would announce a stunning deal like that as some sort of triumph for them, even if true. If they have just made it all up, on what level must your warped brain be, to even think that this shows us in a bad light?

£600k may well be the first instalment of four (as with Brooks and the £4m) - which would give £2.4m guaranteed and a further £1.6m conditional on when he plays 60 games, we get promotion, goals scored etc.

We'll never know what he cost but in a way who cares; he's here and I think he'll be a reyt player for us. At 25, his best years are ahead of him too. If we get Waghorn too, it'll arguably prove to be the best window we've had for many years although I doubt we'll ever beat the summer of '89; Brian Deane 30,000, Alan Roberts 15,000 and the big money move for Ian Bryson at 40,000! I know there was no window back then but what a summer that was!

Agreed. It’s a funny gloat really, as if they don’t want us to be able to afford £4m but not realising that they might have missed a trick in signing such a bargain (if his source is true). Same with the £35k per week Supposedly stopping us from signing Joao - there’s no stopping and thinking that is ludicrous for where he came from and what he has given them. Only that we can’t or won’t advocate that wage.

Deane from Doncaster, typical Blades shopping in lower leagues, no ambition. Bassett out

Wouldnt be suprised if brentford get an installment whenever we get one for brooks, a bit like those loan repayments when we got some cash off west ham. Both 4 year deals
