Egan and O’Connell should not be sold for less than 55/60 million.

Name me one better defender outside the top few teams there aint

Old news re-hashed......there was interest 2 or 3 months ago but can't see Ancelloti wanting to sign Egan, he would prefer to splash it on a "name"...
Exactly, Everton are going to be fishing in much biggest ponds now and they can't risk another player who they aren't certain can play at the level they're aiming for.

Very true.

I think that also goes for quite a few of our players, they work well in our system but outside that are largely an unknown quantity, (and lets face it probably Championship level in a lot of cases).....big gamble for someone to splash £10m/£15m/£20m on.

This^^^^

Alleged interest in the summer that came to nothing. Typical lazy journalism. Lets imagine how we can fix a shit defence by raiding one of the best defences in the league. Because obvisouly they will roll over and have their bellies tickled by one of the big clubs.

Egan is lined up as the next permanent Captain, and could probably have the armband for 3-4 seasons. I would be amazed if Wilder let him leave at this point.

No guarantee's but Wilder says he has faith in the dressing room,I think that means there all in it together ,they are a band of brothers and like Wilder want to continue the journey.

£60m minimum. He's that crucial to the way we play though it would dash any hopes of top 6, beyond repair for this season. Luckily we have amassed enough points so far that we'll be safe.

Historically when these rumours pop up, it's only ever a matter of time with Sheffield United. I hope things have changed

All this talk of 50, 60, 70+ millions for Egan. I thought it was the other side of the City that had delusional fans?
50 million is a fair fair fair price. Look at the statistics (individual) he's out performing every single defender in the league. Previous experience has a price. As does a player in form. Form adds value.

I'm curious, what valuation would you put on Egan.......a key player, defends intelligently, marshals the troops superbly, brave and decisive, so you think that a valuation below 50 million is appropriate...

He worth more to utd than any money can buy..... But wilder as always said if every player as a price

But Im guessing that price wouldn't be anything under 50mil in today's market and from is performances so far this season god only knows how good he will be once he gets used to this league

Everton paid Burnley 30million for Keane and he's nowhere near Egan's quality.

Wilder's not the only person to have said that, but it's a fact that cannot be denied. The wages on offer will make his current wage slip shrink in comparison, so consider, what would you do if offered a substantial increase...

Utd should stop fucking them about and offer contracts these players are worth Everton can't offer him a nything utd can't expect money

Do you mean except rather than expect.......currently I doubt we could offer upwards of 60K per week, whereas at Everton I'd imagine Egan would receive approx 80-100K per week minimum. We're not in the same league financially. They have an owner who is wealthy, something our owner can't compete with.

I was just going to mention Keane, after paying £30m for him and transfers such as Maguire for £80m pushing up the price for Premier League defenders further, I'd expect around £40m for Egan minimum.

I just don't see Everton spending that kind of money on a player with half a season's worth of Premier League experience, they'll probably look abroad and sign someone for half the price.

Some of these figures are pure fantasy.

He's 27.

No one is going to pay over £30m.

That's not to say we should accept £40m though. Good money but a lot of what Egan brings and represents can't be bought.

It's not really about what other teams find acceptable if we don't want to sell. He is worth more to us than what his market value probably should be and we should price accordingly.

Maybe been fanciful here but where we currently stand is perfect for keeping the squad together..

We are higher than the car crash clubs so they shouldn’t be an option and the “Big 6” won’t be looking at our lads bar maybe only O’Connell and Mousset

Already out performing the Scousers clog.
