Wonder if Wilder will go for kyle mcfadzean again wi brayford goin other way...he wanted him b4 but fatty robinson wudnt have it. COYRAWW

He had a chance. When CW took over.

To be fair to Brayford, he was played in the 4-4-2 rather than the wing back role, I reckon he would have done better in the 3-5-2 system. We also lost every game but one under that system when the defence had Wilson and Hussey in it. I'm not saying lets keep Brayford, I just wanted to know why Wilder doesn't fancy him. Brayford would have done well at centre half I reckon in the three centre backs. I'd have liked to see how well Brayford would have done this season in the new formation. But that's all just my opinion and Wilder knows best and I trust him completely with transfer and who leaves too.

CW judged his attitude and effort as much as his technical ability. He obviously wasn't impressed. Players don't always get to play in their preferred position, some get on with it and do their best, others sulk. Remember when Diego whinged about being played out of position? Wrong attitude. That's why he's still not made it. Same with Brayford. If CW didn't think his heart was in it, it's game over for him.
Rooney more or less had his career wrecked by Fergie playing him out of position and I don't think he's ever even mentioned it, never mind moan about it.

Has Brayford moaned about being played out of position? I personally would take into account the possibility of him worrying about a career threatening injury when talking about his heart.
I think it's quite sad that a player who energised the team AND the fans initially and then suffered serious injury is seemingly written off a a United player because of some hearsay lack of heart and being a "mate" of Clough. If Wilder doesn't fancy him - and I'm fine with that - for whatever reason, he's been castigated for choosing to go to a club in a higher division thats managed by someone who does rate him and probably got a good deal on the loan costs.

Do we know that Wilder didn't like his attitude or is just you speculating mate? It could be just that Wilder thought he wasn't playing well and wanted him off the wage bill. As I say though I reckon Brayford was unlucky with the factors I mentioned before. Hussey also never played at left wing back. He'd have played better there than left back. Lafferty played entirely at left wing back, and that suited him more in my view.

No, I probably wrote that badly. Diego complained publicly and I was using it as an example of a bad attitude.

Brayford played like he wasn't fully committed. CW then dropped him, sent him out on loan and has transfer listed him. So, my assumption is that CW wasn't impressed with his attitude.

Seriously hope we don't make a loss in the money we payed for him

I'm speculating. If it was just a case of not playing well, I think he'd have been given more of a chance.

Fully committed or poorly, Wilder certainly made the right decision preferring Freeman. I just think it's a shame that some see Brayford as some sort of villain.

After Marlon King I was pretty much done with the Blades. My mate pestered me into going to the Fulham game. Quite a few of the old mates were going so I went. I can still remember seeing Brayford steaming into a shoulder to shoulder challenge, winning it and powering forward with a look of pure determination on his face.
That, and the team's performance set off a little spark. Obviously, I went to the replay and I was hooked again.

I'll never see either Brayford or Clough as villains; they didn't give us everything we wanted but they did give us some good times and something to be proud of.

A lot of people seem to have forgotten how Brayford got his bad injury. It was literally putting his body on the line for Sheffield United, attempting to stop Swindon scoring in the first leg of the playoffs.

Thought he caused the injury himself by neshing the challenge mesen

I wish Brayfoed well if,as I think it inevitable he has played his last game for us and will make the move to Burton permenant. I will remember the swashbuckling bearded, tattooed cavalier, giving it all and carrying the crowd almost single handedly.
Thanks and good luck John. You gave us some special memories.
Regarding Mcfadzean I pray not. I think he is a talentless agricultural alecart defender, part of a dying breed. Don't want him anywhere near us. I shudder to think of him in the centre of our defence after watching countless sublime performances by last seasons back three.

Be a nominal fee, just to get him off the wage bill, or even a free.

Are we still worrying about the wages John Brayford will be on? I can understand the concern in League one but surely not the Championship?

Hardly game changing thinking if that's a major reason in the decision.

He could well be earning the equivalent of our 4 signings to date. Not concerning?

You could say that, or you could say it's very concerning that our 4 signings aren't the equivalent of one player in terms of wages and quality? (Obviously we don't know yet)

I am saying there are many valid reasons for Brayford to be gone, but I hope his wage levels are not to the forefront of the thinking, because I reckon the wages he is on would not trouble the thinking of Forest or Ipswich or Birmingham for a squad player and those are the sort of clubs I hope we should at least be able to compete with next season.

No we can't. We have been in the pub league 6 years whilst they haven't. We have slipped down the money tree and the differential is fucking massive. Pigs spunking £10m on shit. Bristol City ,BRISTOL CITY spending £5.3m on a n unknown Fench forward today.
The championship is a completely different financial playground since we last struggled in it,and that reflects on what we are and can spend as we go back to it!

The one that is proven in the Championship? I beg to differ mate.

And I respect your opinion. My point is I'm fine with both what we paid/pay Brayford and also what we are now paying our 4 newbies. We are where we are.

He won`t be featuring under Wilder, so the quicker he is off to Burton the better for all parties.

Any transfer fee saved will help Burton pay his 5 figure a week wages, down to Wilder how much we ask for him.

Sometimes you have to cut your losses unfortunately.

You're assuming he is on the same wages as last season.

Good point, he won`t be, he will have had an automatic increase, could be a big one too with the contracts we were giving out back then.

The wage increase is the reason Matt Done is still here!
Best wage of his career, no wonder hes not keen to move.
