Made available for loan from Wolves.

Interest from Bristol City, Fulham and QPR thus far. Could be the quick partner for Billy we're after.

yep just what we need, 1 goal every 4 and a half games, and about 6th choice for wolves, just the kind of deadly forward we are looking for

seriously i see your point he is rapid from what i remember of him, but not for me thanks

The deadly forward we want will cost money we aren't willing to pay or can't afford. This lad has plenty of championship experience and did pretty well at Cardiff and his loan spell at Bolton. Think there's more to come from him in the right team.

I don't think we have 1.2million to spend on a striker.

CW is obviously prioritising a centre half and a centre midfielder first. Then I believe it's whatever is left will be spent on a striker.

We are going to be looking either at a loan or a cheap risk somewhere. That's just my perspective of what may be happening.

I'd much prefer the majority of our budget spent on a striker to be honest

Possibly but it seems CW thinks different. I just don't think we have the money to bring in the "right striker".

What a load of bollocks.

You don't know what we have the money for and what we don't.

You also don't know what CW is thinking.

If you re-read my post I say "think" which clearly showed I don't know what money we have to spend.

I still don't think we have enough money to bring in the right striker. The good strikers in this league are going for millions and I don't think we have the money to spend and get one.

By your own admission I don't know what CW is thinking but on a message board you can speculate. Just like you are speculating. Just relax and make sure you read things properly buddy.

What did I speculate?

I'm all for speculation based on something of a bit of substance. I'm not sure what you've based your thoughts on, that's all.

I get that it's your opinion. It's my opinion that it's bollocks to make those kind of assumptions based on very little/nothing.

And I'm relaxed. Sorry if I came across brash, buddy.

You speculated that I was wrong it's quite obvious. You don't know for sure if I'm right or wrong so your speculating I'm incorrect.

If you wanted to know what I've based my thoughts on you could ask? It's rumoured on SSN we've had a £1.5milliom bid rejected for Lenihan and £500k for Leonard being rejected.

So I believe we have at least £2million to bring in 3 players based on his interviews. We have rumours regulalry about rejected bids for Holmes etc, I haven't heard anything with substance that we've bid for a striker.

I believe a striker better than what we currently have to cost £5million + in today's market (which is ridiculous but true in today's market). From recent history / current spending I don't think we have that sort of money. But as you say I may be wrong.

Wrong. I just said that you don't know either way. Neither do I!

Here's some counter-speculation for yer...

I think even if we had £10m to spend, Wilder would still have made bids of £1.5m and £500k for those players. He's said time and time again that he won't pay over the odds. I don't think that would change even if he had more money.

Also who's to say he hasn't already made a bid for a striker? No reports were to be seen about Stearman whilst that was completed. Who's to say it can't happen again for a striker? I wouldn't base everything off the rumours. Wilder has said himself he's looking to bring a forward player in.

Your thoughts are interesting but I don't buy into it having to cost £5m+ for a striker to improve us. I doubt Wilder will either, based on his current purchases.

Okay time will tell, no need for anyone to speculate 28 days to go and we will see. Let's hope CW gets all his targets.

who would you like us to sign upfront?

Please insert "Player Suggestion" prefix when you start "player suggestion" threads. There are some in here who do not want to read "player suggestion" bollox!

I've been trying to rack my brains and think of anyone as good as Mason available for a million, can't think of any. He gives us everything we lack, cost them 3 million the other year

Sorry to have wasted 5 seconds of your life.

They paid £3million for him and according to twitter Bristol have bid £1.3million.

Supposedly he's only available for loan.

Would love to loan Sam Gallagher but seems a bit unrealistic with Wolves apparently showing interest.

I think Adam Armstrong would've been a good shout too but gone to Bolton on loan.

Ultimately, I don't know because a lot depends on the personality and my scouting network isn't that extensive... :)

I know unofficial but Alan Nixon from the sun claims Gallagher not available for loan and that there is pretty much everyone after him.

I cannot think of a player either better than ours that aren't stupid money!

i know its league 2 and conference, and im not saying he could step up and do it for us, but i cant fathem why no one has taken a punt on john akinde at barnet. brick shithouse of a player that would be a different option, and 80 goals in 134 games is phenomenal. attitude problems perhaps???

Often thought the same, surly someone in League one at least should give him a shot.

Saying that League two players somehow are going for million plus. That Ollie Watkins has gone for 1.8million. The days of risking 100k-200k seem long gone.

Few years ago, a 1.5million offer for most defenders in League one would be accepted (Lenihan) now they are rumoured to be asking for £5million!!

Where is there any indication he's available for a million anyway? Wolves aren't exactly needing cash, so they'll be most likely happy to sit on their investment and get him a loan move anyway.

Like you, I think we need another option up front (Ched was a daft signing on many levels and should be disregarded at this stage). BUT, I'd still prefer investment in defence first and foremost. I'm confident that the style we play creates plenty of chances and so the main aim at this stage should be creating a firm foundation at what is a much harder level to defend at.

Because he's not good enough.

You score that many goals you will have lots of team watching, when all those teams decide not to pursue it must tell you something about the player.

These scouts and managers tend to know their stuff.

that dont make any sense, forwards are there to score goals, i dont think over the last 3 seasons anyone has scored more, yes i agree there must be a reason but probably more attitude or barnet asking silly money. he could well be shit at league one or championship level, but he could just as easily be an absolute diamond, just amazes me no one has taken the chance. plus none of us has any idea how many enquiries have been made about him, not everything makes the press

The only indication is they're happy to loan him out which I'd be happy enough with. Just that's Bristol have bid 1.2 million.

He's more proven than Lolley.

Little point for me....if a rival team that was hardly fantastic last season, deems this kid not good enough for them, why the hell would we be interested.
I believe we will be competing on a level with them on the field, if he can't get in a side that won't be any better than ours then it's a no for me.

Many examples of players scoring at lower level but not deemed worth the risk at higher levels.

Because he's had several opportunities to step up to a higher level and done fuck all every time.
