I thought that JFC has played really good since his return to the team. IMHO he has played better than Marcus Williams did. United have also had better results with a number of goal assists and scoring chances created by him.

DW has said that he is keen on signing Marcus but I think that the money would be better spent on a right back in order to release Lowton for midfield duties.

OOPS

sorry guys, that was meant to be LJF. I must have dyxlexic fingers. (I told you so)

Jean Fran-Cois?

I've heard a few acronyms for him today, sticking to LJF myself :)

He's done well again, started the season well too I think.... He's still partial to the odd bomb-scare/disappearing for a while.

But at the moment, all is good :)

I like him. His decision making is poor at times, but hopefully he'll learn when to avoid taking chances. He's a good athlete, adds pace and his ability on the ball is decent.

He needs more composure at times. Twice yesterday he embarassingly booted the ball straight out for a goal kick under no pressure when he had a chance to get a cross in.

I think he did that because he's always trying to find the killer ball. But a few times he did put in some quality balls from those situations.

I remember Marcus Williams getting mixed up with George Long when we would have been a goal better off if Marcus had put the ball out for a corner. Many other posters gave that comment too.

Against Exeter? That one was a bit debatable. I Blamed Long's poor command for that one. For the record, I think Williams has been awful last few games and I prefer LJF but I think they both have pretty noticable weaknesses.

Marcus Williams is steady enough but has been poor of late. I see no reason to bring him in on a permanent basis but DW is in charge so will do what he thinks is right.

'Lexi' looked much sharper yesterday and only really got himself into bother once. He has a bit of pace to get out of the trouble (like Kozluk did) but better sides could punish him.

Andy Taylor is nearing fitness but I wasn't impressed with him before.

From yesterday's game, I have to say I was very impressed with County's left back, Alan Sheehan. Whatever we are 'spending' on Williams could be better used in a possible enquiry for him. Some of the balls he put into our box second half were very useful, I'm reliably informed he is good on free kicks and he looked solid defensively. I don't know how much County would want but how much can it be? He is the player that has most impressed me at the Lane for the opposition this season.

I agree with that. He needs to learn when to use composure and when to just get rid. He produced two great crosses from deep, in the first half.
The Sodje that played for County though was a fantastic defender.

LJF for me is a much better player to have in defence, granted williams was a bit better going forward, but i'd rather have a defender who can defend in defence! Another thing, next game watch how many headers LJF wins in our own box, with him Harry and Collins, we won almost every defensive header on Tuesday.

Is it a coincidence that we started the season consistently and have become more consistent with him back in the team ? Maybe, probably not, but looking back at his time at Swindon, they conceded a lot less goals with him in the team than when he was out injured.
