Considering we pulled him back from a successful loan just to sit him on the bench, and then gave him a blood clot, I'd say he's shown unbelievable patience with us.
Also, like we all do from time to time players just fancy a change. New environment, fans, team mates, area, improved wage.

People think players want to stay at United forever because we would if we were footballers. It’s a job for the players

Tbh, after her hasn't played for a season (not going into the reasons why which have been discussed enough on here), and the fact that he is a pup who is still unproven, I'm of the opinion that I'm don't really care whether he signs or not. He does.. great. He doesn't, so be it. I don't think he owes us anything, and we don't owe him anything either. I hope he signs but if he does decide to move on, I wish him the best. Either way, just get on and make a decision asap. He's not worth all the indecision. Sign quickly or go.

Before this injury Egan was practically an ever present, if he can get over this injury I have no worries about him in the championship.
That's a big IF with our history of players coming back from injury.
I might keep Egan as backup but I want us to sign a new first-choice CCB.
Egan has never had competition for his place and we've managed to get away with that situation till now.
I want a tall athletic CCB on a permanent contract to command our defence.

I wouldn’t keep Egan but I would with Mcburnie.
Given that you only get half a season out of McB , he would have to be cheap enough to allow us to acquire at least 1 new first choice CF on a permanent contract.
And such recruit would need a better injury record than McB & Brewster and more experience & better scoring record than Jebbo & Osula.
Once Archer & BBD depart , we have a very mediocre set of strikers - not enough for top six.

If Jebbison and McBurnie sign new contracts and we still have Brewster that gives us 3 strikers who've played very few minutes in the last 2 seasons. Osula who still looks raw would be a fourth option. So if we go with 5 strikers then our signing will have to be consistently fit and a goal machine.
With their fitness records I think we can't afford to spunk the money on both Jebbo and McB when we're carrying Brewster as well.

Totally agree, we can't afford to have 3 strikers who are prone to an injury.

It's a shame Brewster isn't a free.

we shouldn’t be offering either a contract, or if we do it needs to be based on being fit. Get rid move on.

Having been cruelly scorned in my suggestion that we should have a song about Basham based on the Badger, Badger, Badger song, undeterred, I’m going to throw another one out there.

Dan-iel Jebb-ison fits nicely with the Bony M classic “Brown Girl in the Ring”.

Dan-iel Jebb-ison, tra la la la la

He looks like he’ll sign for Ip-swich Town
Be-dum-dum 🎵

🤣

Looks like the end game of the least exciting saga ever is coming up

I think a fair few at the club have an option on their contract. I think Wilder will probably retain McBurnie and Egan along with Ozzy.

I expect the likes of Lowe, Baldock and Norwood are being shown the door.

Don’t think he has an option on McBurnie. That option was taken up this season

Star” “McBurnie’s one-year option was exercised last season, ”

We activated McBurnie's option at the end of last season didn't we? He's a free agent in the summer, as is Egan for whom I don't think we had an option at all.

When you look at the impact BBD has had - and he's not perfect by any means - it throws into focus just how poor has been the contribution of our ragtag bunch of strikers.
It's almost impossible to believe that we've been in the PL for a season and that's the striking dept , with arguably the best 2 out of contract.
Who the fuck has been in charge of my beloved club ?

yeah have to agree but we just were not ready to go in to the premier league nidaye got us promoted once he decided to move on we never stood a chance

Berge being sold made sense to me last summer. I didn't want it ot happen but I understood the reason for moving him on. What I didn't agree with in any way was the selling of Ndiaye for the fee that we did. The amount received really wasn't worth the damage it did to the club and it completely shot us in the foot. The rest of the squad knew it as well. Utterly ridiculous decision selling him and as a club. We have got exactly what we deserve this season for making that decision. Anyway, what's done is done.

Has this lad signed or not?

If he hasn't after a season of not kicking a single ball, and numerous attempts to get him to sign a contract, can we tell the lad to sign or fuck off please. For fuck sake, be decisive United. Both parties have now had enough 'just another 48 hours' to make up their minds.

If Utd were a boyfriend and got dumped, they would be round stalking the poor ex for about 18 months. Be adults about it, come to a decision one way or another, and move on. Get it done either way.

Maybe we find out when the retained list is out. I am sure they will want some retained names saved up along with all the outs

“Possibility of some news on Daniel Jebbison contract in 48-72 hours”

Seems to have been going on far too long. Wonder if he’s been stalling waiting to see if Ipswich got promoted?

The longer this drags on, the less likely he remains.

Either way we need to draw a line in the sand and give a deadline.

We are too lenient at giving players as long as they like to make a decision which ultimately impacts our transfer business.

Tbf, bearing in mind the precarious position of Hecky this season which may have impacted players making a decision on their future, weve only had since the start of December to get this one signed and sealed with the player and his agent. 6 months isn't a long time in United's Sloth world.

The club have looked after him, he's had the health issues, prior to that he's hardly ripped it up.

Surely we aren't still trying to persuade him to stay at this late stage? If so cut him loose. He'll hit double figures in L2 I'm sure.

I know players hold the balance of power v the club but we , in particular , seem to accept getting fucked around by players & their contracts.
A case in point was Ndiaye.
FFS tell Jebbo to sign or do one.
How can we plan our huge recruitment needs this window if we can't even get an answer out of the ones we have ?

Player either wants to be here or he doesn’t.

Case in point Blaster.

In one season, done more at United than the last 3 from Jebbison. He took his offer, bit of negotiation and signed.

Jebbo- probably thinks he’s better than he is and thus feels the offer should match his delusions. So now holding out for better offers.

See yer. Deadline of the end of the season or gone.
