This loses a lot of it's comic timing now that the rogue thread it addressed has been merged.

Anyway - on a more serious note....

Tidy player
Good footballer
Positive player
Eye for goal
Why the hell wouldn't yer

It's a "Yes" from Ken

means everything , why do clubs rely on stats therse days

baseball players in US wages are based on their stats
to play in 10 games and not lose means youve been 10 per cent responsible for it, at least
will he improve the team ,
well theres evidence hes not detracted from it more than some fan deciding he doesnt like him
clubs these days will not reject him on those figures

why have we won the league
weve won more games than anyone else
after that its which players have contibuted playing in unbeaten teams
not a random personal taste session

why would you invest in certain shares
they offer good returns , show some gains ,
investing in players is the same

Baseball, like cricket is a game where individual performances are scrutinised because of their game changing impact. Football is not like that, it is the ultimate team game, individual stats are mearly an indicator, not conclusive.

As someone that wouldn't have been too bothered to see him head elsewhere, if he's making up the broader squad roles (say replacing Scougall as back-up), then fine. I'm assuming we will be signing better players to push our current first team in addition to the likes of O'Shea and Evans, who I'm expecting to be outside the starting XI.

O'Shea can score certainly, can whip in a decent cross when called upon to, and is at least a signing that allows us to funnel resources to other priorities...

I dont think he could've done much more with the minutes he has been given.

This could be another Jake Wright signing - Low risk and capable. I'll trust Wilder.

What on earth will we do with a midfield player who will shoot at the goal from outside the box? Alan Knill will have to retrain him during the preseason ;)

No fee, definitely on the lower end of the wage bill, known the squad since January - Would've been strange if we'd not signed him in my opinion.

tell that to fitness coaches , players get dropped over body fat levels now
and performance indicators loom large in selection

It might not be my way
But I'm Okay
if we let Jay O Shea stay.
I wouldn't expect him to play
Every day
but as a squad player he's Okay.
Though I must say
There will come a day
when our team is too good for Jay to stay.

Beautiful! Now we just need a song to fit it into and some merchandise to sell to gullible fans and we've made the big time!

#sufc boss CW on contract offer for Jay O'Shea: "I won't hang about if he doesn't take it we shake hands and move on."
I think we should move on now. O'Shea was ok-ish in L1 but not good enough for our starting 11 - so can't see him featuring much in the Championship. We need to be looking for better quality.

As for O'Shea, he has no chance of receiving an offer from a better club than us - although I guess he may receive a longer contract offer elsewhere.

I do not begrudge him the opportunity to have a contract here given his meaningful contribution in the chances given.

That said, this is an opportunity to get someone in better than Duffy, not of a similar quality.

Though they may cost more.

Given both Maguire and Walker being relatively heavily touted to move on, it may be worth an educated gamble on getting Holmes, Otzumer, Maddison or similar who may be expected to play a more significant role than O'Shea is expected to.
