McEverley is not a captain. His attitude today was the worst part for me.
His foul/booking. Irrelevant if you get the ball, you cannot go through the back of a player like that. And to whinge and whine at the referee, and walk over to shout abuse at the player he's just fouled is outright pathetic and childish. Could have had a second booking for that, bearing in mind the ref did book one of theirs for dissent.
I think what got to McEverley on that occasion was that a Bury player did the same a few minutes earlier and no foul was given, the ref was shocking for both sides to be fair but Bury realised they could get away with it and took every opportunity to stop us playing by any means and to time waste at every chance they got.

Good post , but Clarke , Clark and Pope are run of the mill league 1 players at the best , and all will finish up having more bad games than good. If we had signed the caibre of these players , and lost a game , we all would be saying , we should think big and signed better / higher standard of players. The board and Adkins are a bit in , dammed if they do , dammed if they dont senorio with that one.

The biggest concern is Adkins started with a clean sheet for all players in the squad , when it was blatantly obvious , to all who follow the blades , alot of them , are just not good enough for a promotion push.

Ok any team is going to have a off day , thats football at any level .

The worry is , especially at home , opposition teams , individual players , managers , raise there game , look more hungry / commited / organised than us , and we still seem , not to beable to cope with it.

To get automatic , we have to show both fight and desire , to win games , and want it , as you rightly say.

Lets see how we bounce back against Colchester , who will not be a walk over , and seems like a draw to me.

Clough couldn't crack the home form , dip in organisation , leadership . Lets hope Adkins can , because the pace of the runners at the top is fast , and we just have to make sure we keep up , because i have a feeling , we will not lead , as the race for top two , will be wide open all season.

Lord Bos, do you truly believe that Leon Clarke is a run of the mill league one player ?, seriously ?. Good post though apart from that.

this board has deteriorated significantly over the past 6 months

Disgusting poll

I think there's been a real shift in the last month or two, this OP, for some obvious reasons has just brought me to the point of commenting. I had hoped it would die off, but it's apparent there has been an increase in nasty and vitriolic comments. The acrimony between some posters, and the length of drivel between them is tiresome and predictable, more like Chuckle Brothers, "to me, to you" and just as funny. Perhaps I have lost my sense of humour.

I could post my opinions on an alleged Blades fan posting something like this and all of a sudden I am into a spat. So the ignore button, never used before may have to be called upon. Shame really.

I thought Jay Mc put some decent balls into the box yesterday and did a good job in the first half, unfortunately he didn't sustain this performance and got gradually worse as the game went on, along with a few others i may add.

Ultimately, league one or not we must get better in if we want to sustain a push for the automatics this season, for now though i'd play Freeman LB and get Flynny at RB as someone else has already mentioned, this would see us much stronger but i can't see Adkins binning his captain off so lets just hope Jay does the basics better just like he did when he first came to us and in the first half yesterday, that would be for starters.

Harris can't come back quickly enough.

No Clarke is not run of the mill at this level he's every usefull

Leon Clarke has had 18 clubs , therefore a bit of a nomad player . He has scored the differance of 28 a season for one club , and 3 for another . What we see is that every time we witness Leon Clarke playing against us ( going back to SWFC ) , he always has a good game , and creates us problems , in one way or another .

IMO , he is run of the mill , but managed , loved and cared for , you would , i admit , get something out of him.

With run of the mill , i would swap him tommorow for Higdon , as a off the bench impact player.

Bury have told him , they want him as part of the Bury family , and help to grow there success , which is good PR for player recruitment , especially for the type of player , who can loose interest and commitment . Lets see were Flitcroft , can get it right , were Wigan , Bristol City , Coventry, QPR , Wolves to name a few , failed.

High risk player on a 3 year contract , but high return , if he can produce a conistant display most matches.

A fans view of him ( especially mine ) is somewhat clouded , as he always seems to take the piss , and run us wragged , whoever he plays for . Should buy him , just to stop him doing it.:)

Yes, I agree, it is unfortunate you couldn't care less.
What you, anyone else, or indeed Jay McEveley think of me doesn't affect me.

I'm fed up of paying to watch our captain watch the same basic footballing mistakes. A hell of a lot of us can see where we're heading with McEveley as a mainstay hence the nasty evil thread by the nasty man and his nasty friends. It's a shame we're not all lovely big blades, some of you would be happy with a team like Stocky Park just as long as they 'gave 100%'

Give me a good basic footballer over a hundred percenter who can't do the basics every day of the week.

What happens when Harris comes back? He's better than McEveley so he has to play so McEveley shuffles to centre half, no? (Shudder)

This is a position we shouldn't be in. Cloughs leaving present, cheers for the legacy! A player we're afraid of. The blonde Nosworthy.
