Think Brentford have picked up a Korean youth international this summer there probably is a decent amount of value to be found but it’s definitely too far afield for us

Japan and South Korea always score highly in world quality of life league tables (top 20 at least) whereas the UK doesn't. Very difficult to persuade them to give it up.
Do you think that’s it? I mean quality of life when you’re filthy rich is pretty good everywhere and certainly pretty good in the UK…

Maybe it’s more of a cultural thing, they like Japanese society and people - not drunken kidney punching people who spit half chewed mouthfuls of chip butty all over disabled people?

It's interesting that you have equated quality of life with money rather than culture?? Nowhere have I mentioned 'money'.

Yes - but I would argue that one’s quality of life varies depending on how much money you have.

I’m not saying it’s a perfect measure. But if you can afford to live in the nicest area and have “help” do everything for you and drive a great car and go on exquisite holidays round Europe etc then you’re quality of life is better than if you make minimum wage and have to get on a shitty unreliable bus to work and constantly worry about how you’re going to make ends meet.

Celtic signed a whole lot of them... So quality of life can't be everything if happy to live in Scotland!... just saying like 🤷‍♂️

I like the number 69 player two- can-chew worth a nibble 😏

I would guess that very few Japanese/Korean/Chinese footballers can speak English. Very difficult to learn their languages and vice versa.

It's been proven that your hypothesis is true up to a certain threshold, but beyond that threshold more money doesn't make you happier. The threshold would probably surprise you how low it is (can't remember the exact figure) and I would suggest that most professional footballers in Japan and South Korea are already earning above the threshold. Of course some of them may still be tempted for their own reasons, but not by quality of life measures.

Japanese and South Korean players have to be amongst the greatest value for money players around.. some great talent and if you pick them up from Asia they fetch nominal fees. Their attitudes and work ethics are also second to none

Hiroki Ito from Stuttgart. They want around £9m for him, which isn't expensive, so probably rules us out!
