Resurrecting this thread following the interview with Tareq Hawasli and the comment about providing funds in January.
I can think of very little we actually need. We even have good cover in most positions. Personally I would be looking to ship out Hanson and Lavery (assuming he's back from injury by then) and getting a couple more forwards in to replace them that complement Sharp, Clarke and Donaldson (i.e. give us something a bit different) and give real competition. Not sure about Evans yet, I'd give him the second half of the season to see how he reacts to his operation.

for me the only position I'd strengthen would be the forward line, I cant see anyone coming in and taking a spot from any of the defence or midfield but I could see it happening in the forward line. ben Woodburn loan would be a good shout also an experienced striker in the championship who will guarantee goals, someone like Cameron Jerome. I'm not saying him personally but someone like that. Now I'm not slagging our strikers at all I think we have a lot of fire power in the likes of Clarke, sharp, Donaldson etc. but someone to either challenge or someone proven to give us that final push would be great. Maybe Sinclair would be an option if CW decides to give the agent another chance after the fuck up in the last window.

I think forwards are a priority too. We need youth and pace at the top end of the pitch and we don't have much of that in Clarke, Sharp, Hanson and Donaldson. As good as our midfield is though, I still think we could do with additions. In particular, if Fleck or Coutts are missing they are pretty irreplaceable from within the current squad. Lundstram could develop into a promising substitute for Coutts, but he's nowhere near that level yet. And we don't have anyone who can forage forward from midfield like Flecky. I guess it's out of our reach financially, but the guy John Swift is exactly the kind of midfield player we should be looking to add. He really drives the team forward when he gets on the ball, a bit like Fleck does for us.

Maybe Brooks but not Duffy. As good as Duff is, I can't see him getting a better club than us at his age. If he want Prem football, he'll have to it with us.
