I think we’ll go back in for Cole I don’t think coles a gamble at 22 and has a bit of pace to get into the box to meet a cross, something we’re struggling with at the moment so I wouldn’t have a problem with that one, but as we’ve seen, wilder seems to pick them up that are totally off the radar so who knows...

Wilder had said they let Cole down with thier on and off demands and was gutted for the player cause he wanted to be with us at the start of the season..

He might not be one to go straight into our team but it's a great opportunity to sign a potentially very good, valuable player.

It could also be a 'great opportunity' to sign an average L1 player.

I agree he has pace and age on his side, but to be honest I'd have expected more cosnsitent scoring form by 22. I think the name 'Cole' does him big favours with the tinted glasses remembering how his dad banged them in so easily.

another thread obsessed about spending big money

let CW find a couple more oconnels or stearmans
whats 15m on rhodes and just out of Reach got them pigs
or 3 m on swb van aken
and 5m on Abdi and Puddled

23 m down the shitter

Whatever Chris wants he will get but I dont think he will ask for much

Ryan Woods or Josh Vela, and Sam Baldock would do for me

Josh Vela is a great shout. Somebody who was unrealistic in August but now would be much more realistic due to how we've come on - and Bolton have crumbled.

Gregory at Millwall maybe? Seems to have settled well in the Championship.

I like Woods at Brentford but can't see us having that money.

Before we were looking for gems at L1/2 but now we can probably add bottom half Championship too. We should look at the best players at Burton, Barnsley, Ipswich, maybe even Forest, Derby, Reading. We are attractive to many players right now.

I would scrap the chase for Leonard personally and bring Ben Whiteman back from Donny. Coutts And Fleck have missed very few games in the last 18 months so I’d use the money to go get a striker that will score the 10-12 goals from January that would see us at least in the play offs..... I think we are more likely to see more leave than come in Hanson, Lavery and maybe even Carruthers as he seems to be behind Duffy,Brooksey and Lundstrum nowadays

To echo what many have said...if we're going to spend big (for us) money then it should be spent on a striker who goes straight into the first team. We are playing spectacular football at times but lacking a little bit in the final 3rd that prevents us really battering teams (with the obvious notable exception, but they're utter shite).

Also a real quality CM for the times when Coutts or Fleck are unavailable. I thought Lundstram did ok against Ipswich and is certainly improving, but if we're still around the top come January then surely we could attract someone a level up from him?

Otherwise, I think we're good enough. Maybe a RB/RWB in case Freeman is out very long term.

As always, I trust in Lord Wilder completely. Whoever he thinks is good enough, is good enough.

Surprised no one ever mentions Nick Powell at Wigan always seems like a quality player too good for league 1, and scores a few also. What does Ricky think ?

Dino Ndlovu. Just for the name.

Wilder was keen to sign him two months ago. I guess him, Mitchell and Knill go to the same optician.

How about Donaldson? everybody going on about a new striker, ain't he one? Scored at Sunderland and gets injured, lets see him first
Good point. Looked brilliant on his debut but I suspect that could be the exception rather than the rule.

In my opinion we don't have the budget to get 2/3 players (even with £6/7m to spend) who would all improve the first team - and luckily from the performances weve been producing we don't really need that.

If I was wilder i'd be tempted to bring in a couple like Cole and Leonard for "minimal" fees who would add to the overall quality of the squad without costing the earth.

IMO if we have money to spend we should look for a young, tricky striker with pace to burn - To me that's the only element our squad is missing and our forward line is not getting any younger. Being honest don't know who that might be but maybe someone like Lookman on loan from everton?

Wonder how much Hull would want for Bowen - Looks a good prospect.

Definitely don't disregard Donaldson. He might be 33, but physically he seems considerably younger and he still has great athleticism. Playing in a very different team to the one he was in at Birmingham, he could be quite prolific. He'll typically be part of a front two here rather than playing the lone role, will be in a more attacking team and we have players who'll work well with him, especially Brooks and Sharp.

Powell has bags of ability but has been hindered by injury, and it seems attitude as well. Not sure he's the type Wilder will go for, and doesn't really play in a position we need to strengthen. He'll boss it in L1 though. A really good full season in that league is probably what he needs.

We'll have to replace Brooks and Duffy.
Hopefully not or I will be very naft off, if we are 6th and sold Brooks, Duff, Fleck etc. then we would only have to buy them all back again for next season in the Premier, so why sell in the window.

Exactly. It's what the pigs did with Rhodes. Bought a player they didn't really need.

We've got a solid defence, an excellent midfield, a plethora of decent strikers and David Fucking Brooks. Plus a desire to bring through other young players. Our key attribute is team spirit and a real willingness to work for each other, you just can't sustain that with an overly large squad. Cole and Leonard should be sufficient and that's only if we keep Whiteman at Donny. If we bring him back, just Cole and maybe any good prospect Mitchell has spotted and thinks is destined for big things.

I was being mischievous :)

Good strikers are like rocking horse shit, especially with our budget - how about we try and get a decent loan player from one of the big boys - as an example: Ben Woodburn.

He's almost as good as Brooks

I'd like this especially if we could fashion a deal like Huddersfield did with Mooy; ie a price sorted for if they got promoted.

What's Jamie Murphy up to?

Not sure if he's injured ot not, but not even getting on the bench at Brighton. Could be a good option if he'd come on loan, can see him adding summat extra for us up front, with his abilty to make a run and go round a keeper like he did for us at 1:24 in on this

Agree. A winger/striker with pace and directness would be ideal. He'd make us a bigger threat on counter attacks.

For me the most important position is the over lapping centre half role, as nobody else plays it i wouldnt have a clue who could play it like bash and JOC , but if anythink happens to either of them i think we would be lacking , we have centre halves in stearman and wright and CCV but can any of these make the lung bursting runs all game like bash and JOC , so i think this is the most important area to get cover for
