Pretty sure Wilder has said a few times hes been to the board with the players that he wants and that they have been supportive. Hes also said he wants 3 or 4 capable of going into the first team.

Apart from Rothwell there havent really been any other solid links unlike when Wilder was here previously. Hopefully one is a physically dominant CB, anyone got any names of any links?

Interested with happens with Ogbene.

He’s played for Ipswich already.

So he either plays for Ipswich, us or nobody.

Unless there is a league elsewhere that he’s permitted to join. E.g. Don’t the Scandinavian leagues go to a different timetable? Probably doesn’t work in his favour this way around.

I’d say we’re stuck with him unless Ipswich lose someone and as a result feel they’ll take him back as a squad player.

If Rothwell isn't good enough for us then who is, he's a more than capable midfielder who'd be coming into a generous bang average championship side this season. He'll be fine.

One negative mind, is the lack of playing time this season but I suppose the only chance we have of signing anyone this window with abit of quality is they are all going to be in a similar scenario at their current clubs.

Just think he's not been a first team quality midfielder at this level for a good while. Bit part player for teams in the last few years. And not good enough for a very poor Rangers team..

We should be looking at somebody like Max Bird at Bristol City, or Imran Louza..

For a good while? He was a very useful player for Leeds last season and pretty much took us apart when he came on as a sub.

He has been out of favour for a few months at Rangers.

He played mainly as a sub for leeds...

He would be out favour for a reason, just think we should aim higher.

I dont get this thing with Souttar.. buying him in January would be pointless, he wouldn't impact our season whatsoever. Its like Oli now, hes struggling to get up to speed!

Joe Rothwell also not good enough.
Is he better than Soumaré or Matos? That’s kind of the question at this stage though. When either of those come on there is a significant drop off in knowhow and ability.

New goalkeeper is priority No.1.

No Cooper and we are relegated. It's that simple.

spot on keeper to go straight in number 1 priority as you say if davies plays every chance of being relegated and how a previous poster can say rothwell is not good enough for us is unbelievable twice the midfielder soumare and matsos are we need minimum 4 in to ensure were not dragged back in to the relegation battle

I think we’ll be looking at a lot of players on the up I.e. top end league one players that fit the age bracket. Tickle, the lads from Cardiff, cozier-duberry links all indicate this.

Rothwell of last season blinds both.

The question is how much he's dropped off since then, if at all. I've no idea.

Given the instant success of Riedewald, Bamford & Mee, proven PL experience will be top of Helmys list.

Sure I heard or read that one or two targets are at AFCON.
Wilder actually said that AFCON was "a factor" in the transfer business he wanted to do. I took it by that that he was referring to players who might be needed by their clubs until their AFCON players returned.

Open to interpretation I suppose but we'll see.

The only thing I have to go off is when he unfortunately ran us off the park when he played against us last season at Elland Road, we couldn’t deal with him. He looked quality had a range of passing abilities including set pieces too. If Bamford ties down to a deal this would be a great addition, not to be having too many Leeds rejects but these 2 would know each other.

I'm from Leeds and have season tickets for both LU & The Blades as live in Sheffield and always had a soft spot for the red side of the City so have seen Rothwell a lot last season. He along with Ampadu controlled the midfield many of the games last season and Rothwell was always looking for the forward ball, not sideways or backwards. He will be a decent signing if it happens, takes a decent corner too.

Good to know regarding Rothwell cheers.

We are in need of:

GK - Cooper needs actual competition - allows younger keepers to be sent out on loan
RB - Competition and cover for Seriki - lads shattered
LW/RW - Replacement for Barry and Ogbene
Striker - Campbell is not fit, One needs to go out on loan, we need a striker who can play on the counter.

I believe that some of our new loan players we will get will be in the list pictured - players not registered in the PL 25 man squad, however are eligible to play as born on or after 1st Jan 2004 (Under 21 player) Ignore Southampton as this list includes teams who play in the PL U21 top division as well

If we don't get Rico and Nico from Man City is football worth watching and if there isn't a chant with them in it then we know the games gone.

priority nos 1 keeper nos 2 right back 3 midfielder 4 winger i believe these are the 4 positions we need to bring players in patterson choudray.rothwell and esse would be my choices

4 pretty expensive loans, do they turn us into a top two (form) team and catapult us into the top six?

If no, is there any point?

Are we better off looking over the hill at the Summer rebuild?
