I have been saying this to my mate for some time now, this guy is not as good as people think he is. He is so predictable with what he does all time, he has a bit of pace but never enough to beat the opposition's fastest defender. Every time he loses it he gets face on and fouls the defender who took it off him.

His shots are weak, everyone keeps saying we miss him etc. What do we actually miss? When was the last time he scored? (Pigs at Home?) Speed doesn't know his proper position and neither does ward, lets sell him on if anyone is interested.

Boggy and Evans up front. Cresswell is just as bad and I have no idea why he always gets a place in the first 11, he is awful.

Just a quick rant about ward because I am sick of hearing how fans think the sun shines out of his arse.

Had the same argument myself yesterday. Quinn could have bagged 3 yesterday and he would have been slated. Ward can't control, can't pass and has a funny eye problem where he can't see people a foot infront of him.. because he still tries to play it through them!

At least its not just me then. I just don't know what his best attributes are and what he brings to the team apart from the possibility of him losing his head and leaving us down to 10 men.

Totally agree, he's also appears to be a very very stupid and very dirty.

I think it's as much the case that he isn't as good as he used to be. Either way, he's been dreadful this season. When was his last good home match, that 25 minutes vs the pigs?

I agree with Micalijo, he's a petulant little git too.

I mean, with the current set of tossers, is there anyone deserving of universal acclaim?

Bartley is as close as we've got.

Ward overates himself. What a hero he isn't. Quinn offer's far more. Now that is going to wind some up.

Is there a player in the current squad that we all rate and like?

At the moment, for me there's just Matt Lowton. By virtue of the fact that he's ours, he's young, he's from just up the road, his attitude is twice as good as some, and he looks like becoming a real footballer.

Yep, too true.

This is just clutching at straws now. Picking on individuals and pointing fingers wont solve anything. Admittedly, Jamie Ward is my favourite player but I have come to expect more of him than he has delivered so far this season. Having said that I dont overrate his ability and I wouldn't argue that he's the best United player ive ever seen.....

What I see in him is good potential. He is an intelligent and enthusiastic lad who works hard for the team. Even when he's not on his game he gives 100% and tries to do positive things. I think he should be applauded for that.

So far this season he hasnt produced the sort of performance I associate with him but none of our players have! He is just part of a team low on confidence that isnt playing well and he is a cog within it. The last thing we need to be doing now (as supporters) is alienating our better players and especially the young ones like Wardy, who could become solid performers for us.

I'm sure that some of the players do read comments on here and constructive criticism is fine but casting doubt over their ability is not. People who pay good money are entitled to do so but it will not help achieve the result we all want.

C'mon Steel City, it's a well known fact that good liberal distribution of profanities and abuse benefits everybody.

Thats a very good question.

When people suggest line ups before games it is natural that someone criticises the inclusion of one or two individuals. The situation now though is that ANY player that is included can get criticised by someone.

Britton Bartley and Lowton are the three I like watching at the moment. They'd be even better with some actual footballers beside them.
