Loan view to a permanent in the summer according to RS and a few other sources it's a done deal!

If he's not up for the fight then a good decision!

Seems he became Billy big bollocks!

Wonder when he'll take his parting shot to the club as he seems to be that kind of attitude! "manager didn't like me" "fans put too pressure on""coffee machine was rubbish" yadda yadda

Never going to get a game under Micky by the sounds of it and at least the bad egg is away from the training ground now

Aye, what a waste of talent. Let's hope we get chance to reinvest the wages wisely.

UTB

We're always getting rid of our good players. Nade, Ifill, Stead, Alan Quinn to name but 4. And now Jamie ward joins them. It's disgusting really.

I'd like to think that you're being sarcastic here....

But at the time, for me, getting rid of Stead was a mistake. Also Ifill was a great acquisition for us - a big factor in our promotion.

...as was Alan Quinn (assisted in a big fraction of our goals), and Christian Nade IS a legend for scoring a legendary goal in a legendary game. I'm not quite feeling the sarcasm. :o

Nade, let's face it - wasn't good. Was it 2 goals in the PL he scored? The Arsenal game apart, I never understood why Blades liked him.

Quinn.... well - I was fond of Quinn, and I'd have liked him to have stayed, but I don't think it was a massive mistake in him moving on.

Its a shame Jamie couldn't make it at the lane, he had the potential to be a Blades legend IMO but it looks as if the attitude wasn't quite right. Shame because he showed so much promise when he first arrived.

He has been one of my favourite players but at the end of the day the lad has produced next to nothing this season. He wouldn't get into my starting eleven at the moment based on current form, so this seems like a fairly sensible move for both parties.....IF they can get someone else in!

Well yeah, but legends don't have to be good, they just need to be special (Bob Booker?) like score a special goal (Nade) or break a record (Quinn).

If I remember rightly, the reason a lot of people didn't mind getting rid of Cotteril was because, hilariously, Ward was considered to be the better winger. Great idea that turned out to be.

What is it about our managers and falling out with wingers?

Dunno but I don't think our fans' treatment of them helps.

Precisely. Three months ago Yeates was the 'answer' and everyone loved him. Now, the opposite.

Last JTW everyone was bricking it because West Brom were sniffing around Ward and he was our last prized asset.

Should we be questioning the wisdom of one of our players going to a team that is one of our key relegation rivals? Be just like the Blades to give Derby a leg up so they get out of trouble at our own expense.

Let's just hope he has a niggling injury, not too serious, that keeps him quiet for most of the rest of this season.

Wonder who is coming in to replace him?
Winger?
Someone with pace?
A player with guile and trickery who can create chances for the forwards?
No, of course not - who am I looking to kid. Peanuts = monkeys doesn't it.

Let me get this right, Micky said on FH there was no problem with any one player, and wouldn't name Ward, then he did. The OS says he isn't playing as he hasn't had much sleep due to the recent birth of his first child, yet now he's off, are we being fed a load of rubbish as per usual ie Beattie not very well, not a problem here......oh yes we've now sold him etc etc, why can't they just be honest with us. They can't expect us to give them full backing and support if we are constantly lied to can they???

Utd fans have always expressed differing views on wingers at the Lane. I remember the promotion season where Ifill scored and assisted in double figures yet Blades fans still barracked him at times for losing the ball. I found it astonishing that wing play can be so widely misinderstood.

Wingers WILL lose the ball more often than not, it's those 2 or 3 moments in a game that they produce a telling cross that they need to be judged on. If a winger is so consistent that he's beating his man every time and putting in match winning crosses then he should be playing for a top 4 team!

All I ask is for a winger to make a couple if chances per game and to chip I with the odd goal now and again.

He's got Michael Owen's hamstrings so his career is effectively doomed. Without his former explosive pace and waspish running, he's got nothing to offer but his sulk.

It's sad, because he was the sort of player we should have been recruiting more of, and exactly the sort of player we need now. But that player vanished a year or so ago.
