And so, transfer window speculation kicks into gear.

If this or the Derbyshire rumour are true, then I must say I'm glad we're sorting out our clear lack of strikers and leaving our excellently functioning midfield with great depth well alone.
SHEFFIELD UNITED want to land on-form Motherwell striker Jamie Murphy in a cut-price £60,000 January switch.

The English League One side have opened talks in a bid to sign Murphy, who took his goal tally for the season to eight with his double in the 3-2 win over Hibs.

The Blades could face competition from Bournemouth, who are monitoring the Motherwell star’s situation.

United have been long-term admirers of the 23-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer and could move for free then.

Cash-strapped Motherwell have still to come to an agreement with United but need to bring in money and would rather get cash next month than lose him for nothing in the summer.

Well boss Stuart McCall, however, would prefer to keep his top stars as his team push for a top two finish.

And apologies for the "Murray" in the title, it's lifted directly from the Express headline...

If we get another striker without 1st getting a winger and 2nd ditching a few we already have I think I will be at the point of slapping Wilson.

At the AGM it was clealry stated that our priorities would be wingers and midfeild. It was also clear we (as we already knew) are close to the 65% turnover limit.

I'd be suprised if there's owt in this.

Going on the transcript, Wilson would also like another striker.

That said, I see Murphy can play wide left too so that would make sense with his goalscoring record too.

Aye, I was going to add that I woudn't be suprised if the player could play both positions.

I got the impression tht another striker wouldn't come at the cost of the priorities - wingers and a midfielder.

A pacey left winger who can chip in with some goals sounds ideal. He was linked with a £1m move to WBA in the summer of 2011.

Think he's played with both Porter and Blackman before at Motherwell. Apparently Blackpool agreed a fee for him last season but he turned the move down.

The only part of this which doesn't fit is the fee. We said we wouldn't be paying any.

Had a good look at him on fifa.... he's fast and can play on the wing, and he's a higher rated player than all of ours :D i hope we can land him

Reports from Scotland saying we've now had our first bid of 60k turned down and need to go back with at least 100k.

Get yer half season tickets here.. Roll up! Roll up! Get them in time for the January transfer window. See all the new signings... don't miss out.... Roll Up! Roll Up....!

Bottom of the daily record article..

United top League One and the addition of Murphy, who knocked back a move to Blackpool earlier this year, will help drive their bid for a place in the Championship.

What league are they looking at?

Not sure what use a tennis player is to us at this moment in time. :)
