A very good player who on his day could be exceptional. Perhaps he’s lost a bit of pace over the last year or so as he must be well into his thirties by now

Got to say Cloughie is working wonders for Mansfield who are on a record run.

Must admit my stance on Clough has softened over time.

He's a bit of a steady Eddy and seemingly lacks ambition and for a team hunting for an instant return to the Championship he wasn't exactly that well suited. Happy in a comfort zone, he seemed content to think edging up one place each season would somehow be satisfactory for a club our size.

His final season was one of the most shambolic in terms of excessive recruitment and falling out with players especially after he'd done a memorable job the prior season and always professed to like working with a small squad.

That said, good to see him doing well with Mansfield especially with a smattering of old players in Mini-Quinny, Murphy and Wallace. I see he also has James Perch there. Akers from Burton. Can't be long now until Brayford shows up!

Don’t like starting new threads myself, there is far too many posters on here who are desperate to have their own threads about anything, best just adding to an existing one imo if it’s nothing too important and your not attention seeking. Did you not go straight to the newest post and bypass all the old stuff when you clicked on the thread like normal?

Beautiful. I'd never noticed that before, but I am a fairly new poster....

Really enjoyed listening to that. Jamie Murphy was the best player we had in that L1 side by far and he would skin defenders for fun then get great crosses in which resulted in many goals.

Some great stories about beer and swerving the gym work at BL and he sounded like he had a great rapport with Nigel Clough who I also really respected and so wanted to succeed with us.

He kind of lost his focus with a few strange signings and bizarre tactics but his man management was amazing.

Will never forget Wembley (JM mentions the deafening ovation by us Blades late in the game). Beating Villa away in the cup run where again the support was incredible.

Interesting to hear stuff from a players perspective.

I’ve not seen that button, when I click on a thread it automatically jumps to the newest post on the thread that I’ve not read. Thought everyone must be the same and go straight to New when clicking a thread, clearly not.
