James Wallace

Suppose it's typical of the mentality at this club to blame a once potentially good player for being injured?
If Wallace had never tried again after an injury, there may have been a reason for abuse.
As far as I can make out the poor sod has tried and tried and tried again.
As Weasel said, it isn't his fault he's on the deal he is.
Probably none of us would walk away from a good wage, but maybe some of us wouldn't try quite as hard to get back to work in the first place!

For someone who hasn't had a recent career threatening injury i.e. cruciate ligament, broken leg, he hasn't managed to play for us since November 2015 and has never been reported as being fit.

Yes, though Wallace himself hilariously tried to pass himself off as fit-as-a-fiddle when he joined Shrewsbury at the start of the year:

" I had a few little injuries but I've been fit for four or five months and training every day, I just wasn't getting game time."

He went on to start three games...

Ah, now if that's the case he's a very silly fella. So it would seem that he wasn't understood and wasn't allowed the chance to play? I've seen glimpses of Wallace and he was once an exciting talent, but to suggest he's now fighting fit and more than willing to resume his place on the pitch is at best delusional.

True. If it was anyone but the Blades I'd have pretty much given up by now. It must be heartbreakingly tedious to keep making comebacks only to get injured again. And it hurts. Imagine being in your twenties and spending three or four years getting repeatedly injured and spending all your time in pain, on crutches etc. I'm sure most of us have had injuries of some kind that's put us out of action for a couple of months, and some much worse, it's not fun is it?

No, it's shit. And I'd imagine the soundbite about being "fit for months" was more an attempt to get picked at Shrewsbury, rather than some dig at us.

Sorry if this has been answered, but anyone know if he is currently injured or just not in Wilder's plans but fit?

Sorry if this has been answered already, but what happened with his trial at Fleetwood?

U cant blame the lad for hanging in there and taking the regular wage as he perfects his golf swing and plays on his play station. If i was in his position i would also sit tight and take the regular money coming in. Apparently he is one of the highest earners at the club..(though for the benefit of some on here of course i cant substantiate that fact cos i dont work in the sufc accounts team). Why should he walk away from a nice little earner? Hes here til the day his contract finishes (1 July 2017). Blame the fellas who gave him the contract. We gambled on him, we lost...fair enough. But how we gave a lad with previous history of bad injuries a 2 year deal with a the option for another year in his favour, the almighty only knows. Incompetence pure and simple. Still we have changed for the better and i cant see CW being so flippant with the clubs finance.
What makes you think anything has changed, haven't we just sign a 31 yr old striker on a 3 year deal? Who knows his legs could go at any time same with all players past 30

I think there is enough evidence to suggest things have changed. And Clarke wasn't signed for 'his legs' in that sense.

We've just signed a 31 year old, with a good track record, with minor past injuries, with a repeated desire to play, on a three year deal. This is rather different, and crucially in the event we want to move Clarke on we'll have plenty of takers.

In contrast, we can't give Wallace away – if we could, he'd no longer be here.

What's the deal with this lad? Does he train? Does he play in any of the development squad games? Is he injured? If yes, how long for? Has Wilder mentioned anything on the lad recently?

You might want to sit down a minute, I have some breaking news, he's injured again.

He came off injured in the first 15 mins of an u23s game after someone looked at him.

Wallace lashes out after yet another injury setback

He is the S2 version of Elijah Price, without a doubt.

He's a scouser isn't he? Former Evertonian. Was John Ebbrell his hero?

Shame but it is beyond a joke really. For the lad too.
