James Vaughan

He's had a good season and has a smattering or form at a higher level but I'd be more concerned about the fact he's not even started 200 games in a 12 year career.

Good goal scorer, career riddled with injury problems hence the reason he's been playing in league one for a few years now, not for me.

We've already got 3 of our 5 strikers that are already unproven in the championship.
If we make a 6th signing it can't be a gamble.

Gone to Sunderland. As has Mcgeady from Everton. I'm predicting a less than attractive style of play!

I'm intrigued as to what makes you think that?

Step 1: sign player who can deliver from free kicks and crosses
Step 2: Sign an injury prone striker from a lump it team in a lower division

Step 3 : sign James Hanson?

Sunderland have payed 900k for Vaughan and 250k for mcgeedy according to sky sports

Just take a minute to consider Sunderland's spending in the context of transfer fees received (not least 25m+ for Pickford) and of course parachute payments...

I think most, if not all of our fans, would have welcomed the signing of James Vaughan, certainly before the signing of Ched. However Wilder went for Ched and to be fair, if fit, Ched could well be as good as Vaughan. Vaughan has had persistent injury problems in the past but seems to have put that behind him last season. Ched is almost the other way round! But I am confident that Ched will prove to be a great signing if he gets a run in the side. Leon Clarke is also similar to Vaughan and I think deserves his chance to impress.

Scored 18 in 28 Games for Tranmere last season and has announced his retirement aged 32.
