James Vaughan

According to wikipedia he was clocked at 11.5 secs for 100m when he was a kid.

Good player, remember him breaking into the Everton squad, if only for a few games! Would be a good addition.

If this comes off then surely we'll be seeing one of our strikers shipped out on a season long loan? Question is who?

Considering that Everton are perenially famous for having no strikers I can't see it happening. They have a number on their books at the moment but considering Saha's injury record and the fact that the Yak has stopped scoring it would surprise me to see Vaughan shipped out.

His injury record is horrendous. 19 months out at one point.

perfect for us then. Let's add another crock to our embarrassinlgy thin squad!?

there's plenty of rumours on the net saying that is it us or Burnley who will take him on loan. He is reported to be on 15k a week and hence he's priced way out of reach for us. Unless Everton pay half I can't see us signing him. For that reasons I expect him to go to Burnley (particularly as they are getting parachute money).

He seems like a potentially good addition mind. A pacey striker is exactly what we need. I'd be pleased (as much as a sunshine band member can be) if we loaned him.

Hmm....not sure about this one. I think he would be priced well out of reach anyway (as Olle said) but ive never been entirely convinced by him when ive seen him. Good on his day and has decent pace but ive seen more games where he has looked completely anonymous. I know he plays for an established Premier League club but at the age 22 you have to ask yourself why he hasn't nailed down a place at Everton yet. Their strikers arent exactly firing on all cylinders.

Someone with Championship experience would be a much better option IMO. Perhaps someone like Dave Nugent (again big wages though).

Because he's never been injury free for long enough.

So he's not much use to anyone then? Whether its the case that you're either not good enough or injured most of the time is irrelevant. Either way you're not going to get much out of the player so I would be cautious about taking him on. Especially if his wages are to be as high as expected.

I'm not trying to be "sunshine negative"....just my honest opinon :)

He played 10 games on loan last season, split between Derby & Leicester, and scored one goal. His injury record suggests he is very brittle. A real shame for the kid, he looked to have real promise as a teenager. He needs to re establish his career somewhere, but given our record with injuries in recent times, I don't think I'd take the chance.

well i guess we could pay toffees a million quid for him, play him less than a single half then he retires totally from the game oh wait is that deja vu or have we been there before?

Showing a certain age there then!

:)

Add Crystal Palace to the list of clubs that have pipped us to players:

- Leeds
- Huddersfield
- Norwich
- Palace

He decided to go for cold, hard cash rather than the Woolworths vouchers that Cheap as Chips (mark II) and McCheap were offering

It's a joke. We can't even compete with a club just out of administration and with crowds several thousand lower than ours.

We've only been linked with him, nothing saying we have put in for him for sure. And they haven't completed the loan either yet.

Ha, this post is kind of a spoof of the reaction I would expect.

"Oh noes. A player who we were rumoured to be loaning hasn't been loaned to another club, but let's all panic. PANIC!"

A joke, really? I'm not going to lose any sleep over the fact we've missed out on someone that seems to be following the Danny Cadermarteri footballing career path of:

early promise ------------> injuries and declining form ------------> speedy decline down the leagues

Agreed. I'm not at all bothered that he's gone elsewhere. I dont reckon that much to him anyway. I must have watched him at least half a dozen times and all I see is reasonable pace along with some enthusiasm. Typical young fringe player and I doubt he will make the grade at Everton.

We need a left sided player and a central midfielder. They would be my priorities.

Now that Naysmith is out for 4 months can we remove Huddersfield from the pipped list and place them on a list which includes "overpaid and risky players we missed out on"

Is he really out Swiss? shame for the guy but good to see that the club was proved right. Surprising that Len hasn't brought this up as he was using this particular stick in the summer to beat the club with. Just shows how foolish the Huddersfield chairman is. Will be luck to get 200 games out of him during the 2 year contract.

Unless he played in all first team, reserve team and cup games, I think ANY team would be lucky to get 200 games out of him in two seasons ;-)

16 Goals in 21 why are we not in for him ?? Would be able to do it at a higher level ???
