He gave up this year noticed first bournmouth away under the cosh last 30 min he came on but didn't track back at all
I think as fan base we gave up on him.

Signing luxury players in the PL looking back with hindsight was a bit silly.

Quality player who just didn’t have enough quality or protection around him this season.

Never going to be a consistent game changer for us due to the fact that we rarely had the ball.

There seemed to be an element of not being arsed towards the latter stages of the season but he’s a young kid on loan so can’t blame him to be honest. Particularly when seasoned pros in the side couldn’t.

I still think that he will go on to be a top player in years to come.

I'm not going to deny Pep the right to decide which players he keeps hold of for the first team, but:

"He's special guy to play in small spaces, in the pockets, we don't have many"

Really? Really Pep? You expect me to just believe this bollocks? Give it a rest soft lad

Talking him up to sell him me thinks

I know we were shite last season, but his head dropped far too easily and when he had the ball he was dealt with simply be EPL defenders

He’s getting nowhere near the first team bench let alone starting.

Doyle is a more complete player and went, would love to see him back here in championship tho

Fuck me some of the saltiness on here. McAtee is and was a wonderful footballer who has a special talent and did lots of wonderful things for us and was a pleasure to have watched.... but because he didnt track back once at Bournemouth he was a shyster who downed tools won't do anything with his career yada yada....

Only in S2....

Wonderful footballer and a pleasure to have seen him develop from that little kid at Luton away. He's got the tools to be at the very top.

Genuine GLTTL

It's hard not to down tools a bit when playing football on a completely hopeless side it's just human nature.

At the end of the day the lad loved the club and genuinely wanted to play for us and we let him down just as much with the shower of shite we put around him. Have nothing but praise for him and genuinely think he could go on to have a great career if he knuckles down a bit.

Good player, will never be a great player. My guess is he's too good for the Championship but not good enough for the PL. He's too one footed and not quick enough to test the best defenders and Pep knows this.

As stated elsewhere this is Pep trying to push his price up as he will be sold to help them not breach the financial stability rules. Ipswich or Southampton would be likely destinations I'd think. Unless Leeds fancy reinvesting some of the money they will get for Summerville and/or Gnonto

Most youngsters with any sense will look for the exit at Man City. For the umpteen youngsters they have on the books, Foden is the only one who's made it to be a first team regular.

Cole Palmer is the chief case in point. If he'd not gone to Chelsea and become their main man, there's little chance that he achieved what he did last season to the point of being one of the England team's best players. He'd have been limited to bench appearances and sitting on his arse.

I think McAtee in a better team than ours would do fine in the Premier League at a mid table team with better players around him.

Loved him. Absolute quality on his day.

Lost his way, in a grossly neglected match day squad, devoid of any quality or depth, getting battered every week. No blame in that. He's never experienced that. We weren't good enough, and that's on the board.

Great player, loads of promise. Most importantly, a good lad.

Come on lad, do us one last favour - sit down in the chair and press play for the Oli Mac return video... 😉

I reckon he is sold or loaned to a Foreign side.. he needs to be in a side who dominate possession of the ball.

Maybe I just want it to be true because like you I really liked him but he genuinely seemed to have the attitude of "fuck it, if the rest of you aren't trying then why am I bothering" he was decent first half of season.
