I suspect we'll know by the end of the day though whether he'll be coming (based on media stories/suggestions and 'ITKers').

Whilst I know McAtee wants to succeed at Man City and prioritises that, I think given the fact we have hung in there for him so long means he must have given PH the heads up that if he was allowed to leave then he'd come to us.

Although he has been on the bench for the last few games, he hasn't got on that much. Surely the lure of regular starts means he fancies it.

Ajax seems to be out on McAtee, at least reliable Dutch media is reporting that a defensive midfielder from Norway will be the only incoming transfer for Ajax today/tomorrow.

Totally agree.

Less possession this year a much higher standard than last year - a big step up for all, but a young kid who took 3/4 months to grow into championship football last season will have to be allowed the room to do the same in the Premiership

You'd expect the ideal deal for Man City would be a 12 month Premier League loan with a recall option in January in case they think we aren't developing him to their needs.

You would expect us to accept this type of deal knowing we can go out and loan again if needed in January.

Without Ndiaye, Macca could be prodigious attacker that gets all the attention in our 23/24 team and plenty of 70-80 min amounts of game time.

Surely this works far better for everyone than another 12 month Champ loan.

The reports suggest Hecky wants AT least 2 after Luke Thomas. Doesn't mean he'll get that of course but I can't see us signing Josh King and Moore. I'd say they are in too similar mould.

I think he'll want Mcatee, one of those and one more attacking midfielder we've not heard about yet from abroad.

Agree and as others have said, there's no advantage to either City or McCatee for another Championship loan. Neither will learn anything they don't already know.
