He was a good player for us - wasn't there some statistic that we barely ever lost with him in the side - a modest guy but a leader in defence - happy & pleased for him that he's using his talent to encourage the next generation
A very interesting and articulate man. When we got beaten away at Fulham one night (3-0?) he and some other players not in the match day squad came to sit at the front of the away end. My two youngest went down for autographs. All the players obliged and were excellent but Jake Wright made a point of bringing them back up to me and sat with us for ten minutes. We all asked lots of questions and he was very honest. He said he had loved his time with the Blades and was sorry it was at the end of his career as he was confident big times were imminent. How right he was. He will make an excellent teacher, a great role model.

Great player for us and a top pro. He'd make a great teacher, without a doubt.

Only football link any of my teachers had, and this is reyt tenuous, was one of them were a Wolves fan who had his car vandalised after the 2003 playoff final 😱
Was this a smashed window at the services ? I saw it happen, as did lots of other united supporters. Embarrassing behaviour. Can't believe any blades fan isn't used to losing the big games!

Jake Wright’s my favourite player we’ve ever had (as my avatar on here probably indicates).

He instilled such a level of confidence in our defence and was a true leader on the pitch. Wright was undisputedly one of the most important signings we made in that season. Whilst Billy had the armband, he was essentially our captain that season.

Me and my mum went to the player & supporters dinner thing after the League 1 season. Whilst it was great meeting players like Billy & Bash; Jake Wright and Simon Moore were the only two players who actively seemed to be properly engaged with us fans, spending around 10 minutes talking to me and my mum.
