Coming back from injury but I think Wilder is looking to let him go anyway.

Yeah, who goes in at LCB, if JOC is injured. Kean Bryan has not had much game time and has been short of fitness most of the season.

The deadline for 5 yellows has passed. There’s only really Basham, who I think needs 1 more yellow, then he’s suspended. Norwood and Stevens on 7, so hopefully they’ll miss the next deadline!

You'd think it'd be worth keeping Jake Wright around just for that scenario. Also I rate him higher than Stearman, our surge up the table last season coincided with JW being in the team whilst Stears was out injured.

Cant imagine hed have been on much his entire career, not enough to be retired on.

Plus he might have wanted to go into teaching instead of mulling about on a golf course or what ever retired pros do.

Most league two footballers, which is what he was mostly before joining us in league one, need a real job eventually. Good luck to him...and hope he's like the football coach in Kes!

He was a good player for us - wasn't there some statistic that we barely ever lost with him in the side - a modest guy but a leader in defence - happy & pleased for him that he's using his talent to encourage the next generation

I'm a learning mentor (and qualified teacher) at a primary in Sheffield. One of my colleagues has spent a long time coaching football in Chicago and his sister plays pro for Mansfield. Schools are so better for having sporty types.

I think it's the mention of secondary school that fills me with horror. Suppose someone has to do it

I can go back many years with players we have signed from lower divisions who have turned out to be significant performers for us , but few have surprised me more than Jake Wright .

His positional sense , reading of the game and timing of blocks and tackles were on many occasions of the very highest order and for me he played a great part in our success in the time that he played for us .

In addition , he was by all accounts a lovely bloke and I wish him nothing but the best in his future career .

Jake Wright stood out for me as a thoroughly decent person - a bit like a father figure to the younger players. I saw pretty much all of his games for us as I went to most games, home and away, during 2016/2017. Good luck to him in his future career - both teaching and football (management?)

He's been there for the last year as my daughter's head of year and she thinks he's great. He spoke to me at parents evening a few weeks ago and I had a proper fanboy moment and have no idea what came out of my mouth in response

Yeah, I remember going to a game one random Saturday at York City and he was up front with Jon Parkin. Scored too.

Last seen at Retford I think according to a Danny Hall article from November after being out for over a year through injury.
