One man does not make a team, good luck to him, if I was in his shoes I would be away, its nothing to do with loyalty, which was probably as much to Warnock as SUFC, its to do with earnings and short career.

I would imagine if Jags leaves then Robson will have to have a sub keeper on the bench

no he doesnt want to go, he has been quoted as saying he wants to work with robson. Another rumour until there are quotes of people actually saying that there is a bid then there isnt a bid in my mind. Also agree with dingle dog id be gone,he is as loyal as any player and he has shown that.

I think Jags will still go irrelevant of what has been said, I don't think the England B cap could have come at a worse time for us as it shows he has the potential to take G Neville's spot once retired.

just heard on the radio that we have had many offers from a number of different clubs for him but not have been acceptable.

If we sell him for 4 million then I will personally self destruct.

That would just about sum up united, selling our best players on the cheap, as usual.

Saints got 10 million for both Walcott and Bale, neither had played in the prem before they moved.

the prices for them are just way over the top.

Alright Blades Fans im a Everton Fan.

What do you lads know about his Meeting with Robinson? news from us is that He wants out and he has a release clause in his contract.

simmek from pigs is suppost to be going to everton for £3million. if hes worth 3 jagz is worht £10 million

Yer that was in the papers 2day, i would rather have Jags though.

Doesn't he have an 4 mill release clause in his contract though if you get relegated.

I think I recall the blades board stating there was no such cause, and I honestly don't see why one would have been put in.

It might be a case of him waiting around until January to see whether we're looking like challenging for promotion... in which case, you might have a late Christmas present Tom :)

i think the clause is made up otherwise where would the 9 mil first optrion from liverpool come from? i just hope that if he goes he plays at what ever club he is at a blades legend and ill always remember him for his goalkeeping antics versus arsenal will be sorely missed if he leaves.

If/When we sign him i think he will take the Right back postion for us and his versitiliy is also a help.

Anyway good luck in the new season im sure you will bounce back :D

hell take right back cos phil nevill is shite!

Urban myth. He never has and never will be shite.

Don't talk out of your jap's. How can opinion be an urban myth? Having seen him play quite a bit I think that he's shite too, or has someone been showing me incorrect footage to help promulgate this 'urban myth'?

Blades admit Jags defeat

BRYAN Robson today revealed he is planning a future without Phil Jagielka after the England B international indicated he is unlikely to stay at Bramall Lane.

Robson, Sheffield United's new manager, met with the £4- million-rated defender earlier this week in an attempt to persuade him to remain in South Yorkshire.

But Jagielka, who is being courted by Everton, Wigan and Aston Villa, confirmed that United's relegation last season has convinced him the time is right to cut his ties with a club he has served with distinction since progressing through the ranks at Shirecliffe.

"Keeping Phil looks like it is going to be a problem," Robson told The Star. "He's told me that, if possible, he would rather stay in the Premiership, providing its the best thing for both him and the club.

"My job now looks like it's going to be trying to ensure we get the best deal possible.

"That's what I'll be trying my best to do."

News of Jagielka's imminent departure will be a bitter but not unexpected disappointment for Robson who made no secret of his determination to hold on to United's prized asset when he was appointed as Neil Warnock's successor last month.

Everton are leading the chase to secure the youth-team graduate's signature and, significantly, Goodison Park chief David Moyes was watching when Jagielka made his debut for Steve McClaren's second string against Albania at Turf Moor a week ago.

Jagielka's admission also rubs further salt into wounds still smarting following United's controversial return to the Championship.

Aattention will quickly switch to Jagielka's replacement. Despite being linked with a host of names, including David Healy, Kieran Richardson and Jason Koumas, Robson's lips are tightly sealed.

"I could speak and talk all day about the players that I've been linked with," he said, "But I'm not going to do that. It's my intention to keep the majority of this squad."

Looks like its a case of going, going, gone.

I just hope we get the best deal.

Keenzy, if you think Gary Neville is shit then thats worrying, he quite plainly isnt.

As for Phil, he's been excellent for Everton this season.

G Neville = Fantastic player

P Neville = Complete liability

i hate to admit this, but G Neville is a good solid player!

P.Neville ...not so good

g. neville is the better one, but still he isnt amazing.
phil neville is shite. no other way to put it... but shite. he didnt have a good game against us at everton last season... was all over the place.

Warnocks joining in............

Former Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock has backed Phil Jagielka to leave Bramall Lane over the summer.

Warnock quit The Blades following their relegation from the Premiership and has now stated that his former protégé should do the same.

Jagielka is reportedly attracting interest from Everton, Bolton and Newcastle after forcing his way into the England B setup, even if United recently denied that any deal had been done for the 24-year-old.

Now Warnock believes it is time for the versatile star to seek pastures new and continue his career in the Premiership.

"I think he will definitely go, and quite right as well," said Warnock in the Daily Star Sunday.

"He has done well and the club will cash in on it."

Jagielka is believed to have activated a release clause in his contract after Sheffield United's relegation, and could well be the first high-profile exit of new manager Bryan Robson's tenure.
