Just for fun. The man has retired, but we'll assume he can be quickly match fit.

So right now (with things up in the air as they are), if he was keen... Would you sign him and parachute him into first team training this week?

When we played Derby and he was there he was the best player on the pitch. Does this mean we should sign him? Not on your Nelly.

Can't believe I'm saying this but I'm going to take a leaf out of El Accounto's book.

Yes we are being massively held up in the process/progress this summer of squad recruitment.
But the time to worry probably isn't just yet. Ideally the takeover is concluded within the next week-2 weeks. Meaning there would be 3 weeks before the season starts to start bringing in targets.
And should this takeover happen the calibre of player will likely be higher that we can afford at this minute.

If all goes ahead and within a reasonable timescale then by the end of the window we will have a strong enough squad to compete within the top end of the table.
If it doesn't then we will likely have a squad that will not be.

The issue will be a bit like last season though, how many will be suffering from not being part of our pre-season program and fitness.
And how long will some take to settle in?
However the quality of the player and squad for this level should be competitive.

You didn't even tick 'long winded response'

Tony Currie must still have his boots tucked away somewhere, can't believe how some on here live in the past!

Jags, Tongue, Brown, Paddy.

Should bring them all back so we should, restore the Crown Jewels and the glory days

Anyone getting annoyed may wish to read the title and description again.

not heard to this for ages better than thinking about the question:

🤷‍♂️

£1k a week for emergency backup and for that to account for hours doing coaching and I wouldn't have a problem with that.

Pepe is 41!

That'd be a bargain to get him coaching too! Can I change my vote to Yes?!

Can he play in goal….?!!! 😂

Not sure I would parachute him in. It’s always looked a bit dangerous to me that. I’d prefer he arrived by car like everyone else. Unless he could have red and white smoke coming out of his heels. That might look good.

This is a classic going backwards move, for a club that at this moment is going backwards very fast... 45k a week we paid him last time and he hardly played..

Didn't come back for the love..it's a No in case you're wondering.

I'm all for a bit of fun! but seriously he could come back in some coaching or
Fitness role . Is he wanting to stay in the game now he's retired that's key.

No.
I would rather spend the money on something more worthwhile.

Maybe sign a young player with potential from L1,2 or Conf.

I guess this (extremely fun) poll was to flush out the most desperate of forum members 😂

17 votes for yes. Respect to you folk! Hopefully things aren't as bad as they might look for us.
