Jags for England?

I think that jags is miles away and i dont expect him to ever earn a call up. Mainly because his best position is centre back and he is behind too many other players in that position.

Jags is a great player, possibly the best i have seen at the lane and i couldn't care less if he never plays for England as long as he keeps playing for us.

at right back though?

Neville is getting on now and won't be able to go for much longer.

I think jags is a better RB than Micah Richards, Luke Young and co.

United could win the Champion's League with an all-English side and still not have a player picked for England. We're not hip and trendy enough for the F.A.

Jags is not a right back center back is his position!

Jags should be in the england fold he is better than the likes of Phil Neville thats for sure.

Not sure jags is quite up to the standered of Barry yet tbh.

Jags is a quality centre half, it cant be long before england call.

Another top draw performance by him. Was watching him a bit yesterday and every time they had the ball he went and got it.

Great player and like pople said deserves and England place.

not sure if im right but most times i see jagielka scoring, walking on the pitch or even after a game won he seems to lifeless (to glaze?)

havent seen him playing live though but he has this impact to me as an supporter... thought he loved the team he plays for?!

Well then with no offence, you know nothing about football.

Barry is a quality player.

Ah, it wouldn't be a weekend without an inflammatory comment from Sharpy who knows more about football in his 17 years of life than the combined forum will ever manage in their innumerable years ;)

How do their scores compare on Footy Manager? ;)

not yet not at cb anyway looks the players infront of him not in central midfield cos looks at his competition only position i can see him getting called up too is right back and everyone is riding micah richards dick at the moment so i dont think it will happen. although i do beleive jags would get in any other international defence in the world

I dont recall Gareth Barry playing proffesinal football 17 years ago linz? My age has nothing to do with it when it comes to judging a player who has shown his quality in the past 4 seasons.

Anybody with any sense of a football brain can see Barry is a quality player.

I dont think she is saying how much of a quality player barry is

Someone said they hadn't seen you post for a while.

You were just sharpening your pointy stick.

:D :D :D

Ah, Sharpy's only 17? That explains so very, very much.

And I still rate Jags over Barry. Sorry son ;)

Is it just me or does it seem a bit daft comparing a left-winger to a centre-back?
Barry's a good player but is not a patch on Joe Cole. Both of them are streets ahead of Downing, but Son of Sven is not gonna drop a left-winger to have an extra centre-back in his squad...

I haven’t seen that much of Gareth Barry but from what I have seen I would say that Jags is a better centre back but Barry is a better midfielder. As someone pointed out, it’s pretty pointless comparing the two players as they play in different positions, or at least their best positions are different as both players are flexible.

I think Jagielka is a better defender then Dawson and so if he is worthy of and England place then I cannot see why Jagielka is not considered.

I stand by my earlier comment that I don’t see Jags ever playing for England, but i think that has more to do with the team he plays for rather then his ability or lack there of.

Ah, the folly of youth.

I was expressing what's called an opinion. That means it's subjective. That means that I can think what I like, with or without your say-so. I've been watching United since well before you were born, so I like to think I am able to express myself whenever I like. As for the trout heads bit, well that's merely an older person's attempt at a joke. You could always try developing a sense of humour, or at least ask a grown-up to explain some of the funny posts and big words for you.
