Just heard that Everton have rejected a £10Million bid for Jags from The Arse. If he is sold on, do we get a nice little earner from a sell on clause or will anything due to us disappear into the big black hole?

I don't think we had any bargaining position to negotiate a sell-on clause. Everton met the release fee in Jags' contract and that was the end of the story. The mistake, if there was one, was allowing the release fee clause, not, not having a sell-on clause.
(as a slight aside) Is 10 million quid not a bit of an insult? Jagielka has just signed a new contract and is obviously happy in Merseyside and hence is value is likely to be inflated if anything. Jags is one of the best defenders in the league (I would ony put Ferdinand, Vidic and Terry ahead of him) and is certainly the best available defender. Lescott went to Man City for almost double that and he is way way inferior to Jagielka. I think it would be an excellent (though long overdue) move for Wenger and Arsenal to sign Jags, but would be expecting much higher compensation (in the form of the transfer fee) for Everton.
I agree with Bladesway's comments. This was not poor management by United (for once). We were over a barrell and we did everything we could to keep Jags at the club. We took a risk and it back fired. If we had only drawn at home to Wigan on the final day then we would have never have bee talking about this. It made absolute sense for Jags to ask for a relegation contract clause and we were in absolutely no position to negotiate the fee and sell on terms etc.
Imagine a back 4 of Naughton, Jags, Morgs, Walker with Paddy in net. It could and would have been possible.
