Well maybe can count it as a cameo with 12 minutes or so. But he looked to slot straight into the way we played. I’m not talking about ability as 12 minutes isn’t enough.

But there were 2 big 50/50 headers where there’s a chance he could have got hurt and he went in when the Millwall players didn’t. He also bombed forward and looked comfortable on the ball.

Ability wise it was only 12 minutes but he looked very comfortable on the ball and was involved in the second goal.

For 300k he looks an absolute steal.

I slagged the signing off but i agree there was a lot of positive moments for the lad in just a 12 minute spell.

I liked the look of him too. He made some clever runs into the box from his wing to help create space on the outside for Osborn / O'Connell. He's clearly studied our system & was keen to display this. He put some real hard work in & looked to get on the front foot & be positive.

He looked more competent than Osborn did at LWB &, as a minimum, he will be an improvement on Kean Bryan to cover O' Connell.

He's genuinely seemed delighted to be here too.

To be honest I think it’s his ability to fit into the system more than anything else which will determine if the signing is successful or not....

he started out at Liverpool so will have some natural talent and has forged a half decent career so far. If he can adapt to what wilder wants from him there’s no reason he can’t step in and do well.

Take basham for example - pre wilder I reckon well over 70% of our fans would have questioned his ability to play well at championship level - now he’s a vital part of a solid PL defence and hasn’t looked out of place at all even against some of the leagues best.

Gave the ball to Billy in the build up for the second.

Was massively uninspired but if he can provide cover at LCB and he hasn't stopped us from signing Besic on a perm and then A.N.Other loan and possibly a third I am all for it. In Wilder We Trust !!!

Really good article about him in the Athletic - played for Liverpool at a young age, moved to QPR to get more regular football. Picked up a bad injury which almost lead him to retiring. It was Ian Holloway that picked him up and made him train through the pain and depression and got him going again. Holloway very positive about his character and ability and made up for him that he is now going to be managed by Wilder. Marriage made in heaven according to him. And his contribution although brief looked good on Saturday

What's with the call to sign up Besic permanently?? Seen a lot of fans say this and I just don't follow the logic.

We have him on a season long loan. He's hardly cemented himself in the starting 11, and a decent goal against Millwall aside, has not exactly got anybody out of their seats with his performances.

Surely it's better to reassess in the summer with another influx of PL cash and see if we can get better?

I agree. I like Besic, and would be pleased if we sign him, but we already have him on loan a d we can wait until the summer to commit ourselves either way.

Unless of course Everton want him off their books quickly and are ready to make us a very good deal to take him now...?
