YesRoger Nilsen?
No. He’s never been a wing back.If we put Goode in there instead of Robinson with Goode either LCB or Egan there, notwithstanding Davies is the most natural fit, does Robinson then become an option at LWB?
It would seem harsh to drop him entirely after 2 decent games but we know he's only one game away from a Wolves horror show.
So suppose we don't waste time to get to our best XI and Davies or Goode come in for him, would he be an option at LWB? It's not as if Stevens' impact hasn't lessened. It's not as if Norrington-Davies has fully convinced, defensively or offensively. It's not like Osborn's height isn't a weakness defensively.
On the theme that Wilder often brought players in and played them not in their favoured position, he's another one. Add him to Freeman (no 10 or winger, not LCM), C Robinson (wide forward not CF), McBurnie (not a target man historically), Berge (not a box to box midfielder).
Robinson has played around 250 matches and almost exactly 2/3 of those have been at left back. He's a left back. In fact around 40% of his career centre back appearances have come with us.
He's not small so won't get caught out in terms of height for a wing back like Osborn would. He's less exposed at LWB than LCB. He can be creative i.e Jebbo's Everton goal. You'd also retain his long throw and he's potentially useful from set pieces e.g. his goal vs Luton.
Just a thought that seldom gets mentioned. Maybe he could be even better in his actual primary position?
And the one before
Robinson played great the last match give him a break ffs
correctSo he’s had 2 good games. Sound.
Mark Todd had quite a long throw, unless my memory's playing tricks....1970 to 1974 Geoff Salmons
1983 to 1990 Paul Stancliffe
1990 to 1991 Vinnie Jones
1991 to 1993 John Pemberton
Trying to think of anyone in the years between Pemberton and Bromby?
Created an open goal for Billy at Derby. Can we throw (aha) that in the bin?
It causes no problem whatsoever to the opposition yet we seem insistent on it. Completely pointless. I’d rather we just recycle possession.
Thoughts?
Disagree mate. It give the oppo something to think about. Wod lime to see a cheeky routine from that. Maybe pretend to long throw but.... don'tCan we throw (aha) that in the bin?

Didn’t Gannon have a long throw? Same era as Pemberton though.1970 to 1974 Geoff Salmons
1983 to 1990 Paul Stancliffe

Last two matches and scoredRobinson played great the last match give him a break ffs
One of the Kyle's were quite useful with a long throw I think it was WalkerLast player we had that used a long throw well? Bromby or Halford probably.
According to this newspaper report, Rob Kozluk. I remember his throw being longish, perhaps not in the league of Bromby or Halford though.1970 to 1974 Geoff Salmons
1983 to 1990 Paul Stancliffe
1990 to 1991 Vinnie Jones

Oh yes, I remember him walking towards the North stand at S6 ready to take a long throw when we beat them 2-1 in February 2006. I noticed many Wendy fans got angry with him and tried to get the stewards attention. In the next day I asked a Wendy workmate what Kozzy had done to anger those in the North stand. He told me that he blew a raspberry at them!According to this newspaper report, Rob Kozluk. I remember his throw being longish, perhaps not in the league of Bromby or Halford though.
Greg Halford had amazingly good long throw.1970 to 1974 Geoff Salmons
1983 to 1990 Paul Stancliffe
1990 to 1991 Vinnie Jones
1991 to 1993 John Pemberton

Rory Delapesque. But can he throw a packet over the prison wall? That's the acid test.
BTW. That's out to in, not the t'other.
It is in hereJohn pemberton had his cartwheel long throw
Did not use it often and do not think he ever used it after he slipped, made a tit of himself and then as a means of salvaging his pride went into a flying tackle and subsequently got booked
Once a scapegoat always a scapegoat in the eyes of the lane faithfulLast two matches and scored
Agree. Seems pretty ineffectual. I only remember Stoke using it to any great effect with Rory Delap. The long throw is still fucking useless 3 years later.
We may as well let the other team have the throw in at this point.
