No it’s not. The price is constructed by what the selling club will accept and what the buying club will pay.

Because the contract still has to be paid up so part of the transfer fee goes to paying that off as I understand it? I'd imagine that's negotiable however, particularly if the player wants to leave. Things like this explain why transfers take time and don't happen as quick as we'd all like based on our experience playing FIFA

I've never heard this before. I don't think it's true at all. Some contracted bonuses perhaps, but not wages.

Why would a selling club pay up the remaining contracted salary?

One contract ends with a "transfer". Another begins.

If the player doesn’t ask to leave they do usually get a payoff.

The player’s ‘signing on fee’ is usually split across the term of the contract and paid as a ‘loyalty’ bonus each year. If they put in a formal transfer request they are no longer entitled to receive further instalments. That’s why players rarely submit formal transfer requests.

That works both ways though. Take Ozil for example on £350k a week. I would think he has zero value in the transfer market - in fact Arsenal would actually pay some club to take him by continuing to pay some of his wages.

Well knowing about some of the past history of a young lady who was shall we say 'well aquainted' with Simon a few years back (when he was apparently single), I think it's safe to say that on that occasion, he got his hand on a big gash. Just lucky for Simon that her Mother didn't get hold of him. He might actually have been swallowed whole, by the gash on offer and CW would have had to send out search parties.
