I think the money will come into it and FIFA will know more will be generated in England. However here in England we are all so inward looking and think we are the only ones that exist on this planet. Spain and Portugal have always been the strong favorites for the 2018 bid. Only a few months ago one of the nominating committee members stated on football focus that England's bid was far away from being the World cup host.
How good will it be 12 months from now watching it live on telly the announcement of the winning host, and England are unsuccessful. That would be so sweet. Please let it happen.

look guys.. calm down .. we were never going to get it..
i know personally the guy who was the architect on our turned down plans 20 years ago. .he was adamant that it was because all of the council and mps hattersley.. betts.. blunkett.. et al were wendy.. now these people have moved on to make britain the same shambles as sheffield .. add thomson, wilkinson and richards to the mix and it was a no brainer really.. they only moved the m1 at the last minute to fit in sheffield you know.. we weren't on the road maps for years.
