It's not Di Matteo..

according to Ceefax RDM has been offered the job...

er... in Fridays Gossip which might or might not be more credible than BM :)

It's amazing really unless the ITK is McCabe or Steer txting them I'd be highly suprised if they know diddly squat. One has said we can't afford his wages now another is due to financial constraints. He's worked at MK Don's and I'd say their constraints will be alot hefty than ours, unless either of the two parties come out confirming he has turned it down or accepted the job, then we are just back to square one of not knowing anything.

West Brom run a tight ship, no where near as tight as what ours will be next year, but he didn't exactly splash massive amounts on players there did he?

3 or 4 posters on BM all sending each other texts......well that's obviously the truth then, so long RDM, it could have been wonderful....

Wages the big stumbling block I'm told Coops
Don't know what he's asking but he needs to at least halve it was the word

Wisdom. BladesMad. You don't see those two words in the same sentence very often, unless preceded by the word "no".

I'd take as accurate dispite who is posting it.

I think most sane fans thought that financing RDM would be a stretch.

They have more ITK posters if you know who to look for away from the obvious 2-3. They do also have more WUMs and general nutters.

C'est la vie.

I'm going to hold out hope for RDM until all hope has gone, like the mathematical possibility of avoiding relegation when you are 3 points adrift with one game left and needing a goal swing of 11.

We know, unless it's McCabe spin, that he/his agent expressed an interest. McCabe also said that we could afford him, it was an experience issue so to say his appointment is on sticky ground due to financial constraints or his wages seems a bit strange to me. All smoke and mirrors as usual, RDM seems to be the equivalent SO'D from January.

Di Matteo was never going to be the man was he? Not sure why McCabe would allow himself to be quoted directly with such a target though, McCabe tends to keep his powder very dry and says nothing.

Having said that, nothing that McCabe does would actually surprise me now.

Hello, I've tried posting from WBA Mad but your board's locked, so maybe you'll see this. The situation with RDM is this, He's still under contract to us until the beginning of July. Its a rolling 12 month contract which will not be renewed. However he refused our termination package, which means we are legally obliged to pay him until then. We are goldenhandcuffed to him. However he cannot apply for another job in football or be approached by without consent from WBA. The compensation of which is a full buyout of the 12 month contract.

Would explain why we might not be able to afford him

Not 100 percent on those facts but if true there isnt anything legally that would stop us talking to him about a contract from July.
Compensation at most to WBA would be a months money because that is all the contract is worth and that is only payable if we want him to start while under their contract. WBA have nothing to gain from refusing us permission.

so RDM and WBA cudn't reach a compromise agreement.......... alarm bells ringing for me !

a brave man whoever accepts the position as Blades manager while McHe'sTheWorstWe've had is at BDTBL.

Thought it was going to say something like...It's Dominic Matteo instead.

(I know not funny but I actually did expect that for some strange reason)

He is definately still on "Gardening Leave" from WBA, but as you say the most we would have to pay is the amount he is due between now and July, so unlikely to be a deal breaker.

I was under the impression that a rolling contract was under a state of permanent renewal ie; everyday your contract is renewed for another 12 months, and either party has to give a years notice. Otherwise surely there's nothing rolling about it at all, it's just a 12 month contract?

Ergo, his contract would run out a year from when they placed him on gardening leave (January 2012), thus making the compo package considerably more than 1 month.

Agree Highbury, that's exactly how I understand things.

and for the record, I hate the word "Ergo" it annoys me almost as much as the word "Genre"
