It's almost as if

Given that we spent a fortune on proven Championship players last time we were in the Prem, and still didn't bounce straight back up, makes me think that signing a load of unknowns for peanuts with the intention of getting relegated and bouncing back is a really, really bad plan.

People have forgotten the awful financial position we've only just come out of.

Despite the majority acknowledging we're almost certainties to get relegated especially after losing Ndiaye who no matter who we get in isn't replaceable... People now demanding we go out and spend big.

We had a whole clutch of players in last year of contract which we've sold some for ok'ish money and replaced them with younger players on 4 to 5 year contracts alot of whom we would have no chance of signing if we were still in the championship and putting us in a strong position to bounce back up.

Yet some of us are willing to throw that all away just to increase our chances of staying up by a very small percentage.

It's 38 free hits, we hope to stay up but plan for the worst case and most likely scenario which is relegation.
So long as we compete at least, and build a squad that brings us straight back up that's all the expectations I have

Who would you say is on the highest wages at the moment? Brewster and McBurnie?

We are wanting to unearth a few gems along the way to sell on...

Tbh, the new lads haven't had the impact that anel had in his first game, but that's what the club is after, players like anel, who instantly increase in value...

I know that's the hope, but it's a big gamble.

Not so much about spending money, the bigger problem is the lack of any sign of forward planning and organisation.
The squad assembled for last week was embarrassing and we should never have been in that position.
Everything's held together with bits of sticky tape, reacting to events without any sense the club has a clue what it's doing medium or longer term.
We are going to get relegated and then find ourselves in the same or possibly worse situation next year with so many players out of contract. Anyone who's any good this season will be sold and the chance of coming back up is minimal at best.
Spending shitloads isn't and never was the answer but we do have some financial leeway with a £100m increase in turnover plus two big sales. It beggars belief that a Premier League club hasn't had its eyes on numerous players and be ready to act instead of pissing around with the likes of the Akpom and Archer transfers for weeks without going anywhere.

Absolutely spot on, but its the 'Blades way' eh? That reminds me of a Yorkshire mentality stuck in the 50's
