Just seen bbc highlights, showed more than sky last night, dive and half and the ref was in a good position, fucking shocking, he'd fail his basic referee's assesment for that, or at least he would if they weren't desperate for them. Second very harsh, the FA needs to sort its rules out, that was ball to hand. Bartley hadn't raised his hands or attempted to block with them, poor decision and he was quiet far away.

Quinn incident, he barely touched their player that went down like a sack of shit, he shouldn't have reacted in away, but neither should that player of gone down like that, diving and rolling around have become too much apart of the game, and its about time the all the governing bodies did something about it, Straight Red if seen in a game, if not and spotted after the game a 3 match ban. Another thing is it's about time referees start at these levels start to be examined and assesed more, and its about time they got held accountable and banned from refereeing so many games.

Just seen another dive in Liverpool game, this game is a joke  (I coach and I won't accept diving from my players, their only 7, but I've already seen it from some other teams)

Highlights

Got to be honest and just seen the highlights and did not quite see the daylight robbery some that went/on here have......the big decision was the first pen was was not a penalty in my opinion but I have seen them given even saying that and the defending was more of a concern for me.

It looked akin to the Palace one which they got at the Lane which also wasn't but there was contact even if it was minimal and Montgomery got the wrong side of his man. It was the same as Noswrothy on Saturday and De Laet against Burnley; if you get wrong side of your man and make any kind of contact they will go down; it is it cheating? maybe but refs keep giving such decisions. You would think our players would learn and avoid contact in such situations; or better stll get the right side of the man.

I have watched it several times and whislt I did not think it was a penalty in my opinion it was not quite as cut and dried as many on here have made due to the fact there was contact no matter how minimal and with our player behind the attacker can see to some degree why he gave it. I think certain other refs may have given it too. It was more of a foul than the one we got for Evans against Palace as an example. It was once again really poor defending to let him run past two men and advance into the box. Still a harsh decision granted but the way we defended such a situation would be of more concern to the coaching staff surely as it is at least the 3rd time we have conceded a penalty in such a way.

The third looked pretty clear cut. The ball was not really blasted into him as some have said and the only defence is that it was played at Bartley from close proximity but it hit his hand and was seemed fairly obvious?

I expected 2 utterly appalling decisions but whislt the first was harsh and the second was probably a penalty that most would give. Granted the qualiser gave them the momentum to go on and win the game.

Would have been nice to have seen our appeals for penalty awards. It was hardly the rout aswell that the BBC commentator called it.

As for the sending off maybe my eyes are deceiving me but I saw Quinn lash out at Holt (and miss him admittedly) with his foot and then put his head into an opponent (maybe barely burshed him) but the motion was definite and utter stupidity. The player went down ridiculously but if Quinn does not put his head towards him then he had no need to go down. I really can see why he was sent off and it was right in front of the linesman and referee too.

That is now 5 or is 6 we have had sent off this year, the worst disciplinary record in the league and with 3 suspended for Saturday represents appalling lack of discipline. That concerns me more than blaming the referees every week. Surely they can't all be wrong and 'out to get us'. Our players have to take a long hard look at themselves.

Minimal contact and throwing yourself on the floor is a dive simple as, its cheating to get a decision, the minimal contact or intended contact rule is the biggest load of bollocks ever, football is a contact sport and its hide tide, cheating to get decisions needs looking at, it truly is spoiling the game.

I kind of agree and football has gone mad with penalties given for very little but United players have to adjust to how officials call games.

First de Laet v Burnley, then Calve v Palace, Nosworthy v Hull and then Monty yesterday. They have been different officials every game but all have given them. They are not all out to get United as some make out. We simply have to play with out heads more.

We could argue none were pens but the fact is refs are giving them so we either a) get in the right position - eg goalside - basics of schoolboy football or b) if in wrong position then it is not ideal but then dont make contact with the man.

the ref ha an absolute shocker yesterday!!!! there 1st penalty holt dived and the 2nd the ball was blasted at bartley(have seen them given but still harsh).

towards the end of the game we should have had 2 penalties ourselves, the handball was worst than bartley's and one just before were ched turned and got clipped by defender just in box. he should have gone down instead of staying on his feet and taking the shot.

thought quinn was sent off for kicking out at holt(i think) just after the ball had gone out but after the minute or 2, the linesman and ref judged quinn to have thrown a punch. had he kept his temper the incident would have never happened.

we didn't deserve to leave there with nothing. the officals ruined the game, ref inconsistent, got most big decisions wrong, 1 linesman was flag crazy on ched the other needed to go to specsavers!!!!

You're not wrong Ricky. I don't know why Quinny is getting so much stick on some of the other threads. The performance (as one who went) by the lads was one of the better ones I've seen this season. We have played some gash football at times this season, but with Fatboy Reid on a promise of bonus pies for wonder freekicks like yesterdays, hopefully we can start to climb up the table.

The officials were fooking useless. Couldn't work out if the lino was just confused or if he was doing semaphore to the ref to let him know that the odds were perfect for him to give away a suspect penalty?!

On a side note, I'm not keen on the idea of MA for manager. Is he really good enough? Look at the stats...

Too true on positioning, but at times you see wonder tackles from those positions also, I generally feel the way its gone players are too scared to commit to last ditch tackles.

The route of cheating is becoming ever more an acceptable tactic to use, look at Hull other, day, time wasted from first goal, and pretty much kicked the shit out of most of our players and got away with it. Coventry did same this season and Forest did a couple of seasons ago too. The problem that annoys me is we even see dickhead commenators in on the act now, shit like "He put his arm across him there." ..... Oh so that warrants the player falling down like he's just been knee capped or punched in the face by a twenty stone cage fighter now does it?.... its a joke and with the over paid players in the main game its really starting to drag the game down. Thing is my players on grass roots level look up to some players like that, I tell them off for pratting around with diving in training, its something I can't abide, but like I said I've already seen players at that age do it and other managers encouraging that behaviour, its just wrong. Its making the sport an absoulte mockery!

The route of cheating is becoming ever more an acceptable tactic to use...

Witness the dreadful 'tackle' on Charles n'Zogbia last night where he clearly dived with no contact and no 'intent' from the defender, 10 yards away from the ref and gets the penalty....

Just seen it Dunc, absolute disgrace, and the commentator, making out he did brillantly there makes it even more stupid, shocking decision and an absolute knobhead of a commentator. Lets not forget N'Zogbia, 3 match ban and a fine should be what he gets, but the will FA sit in their Ivory tower and do fuck all.
