id be pretty pleased if it is robbo. he still needs a miracle to get a team together, but id much rather him doing it than morgan.
 
I guess all will be revealed in the fulness of time, Foxy does seem to have placed a shrewd bet though if all these rumours prove correct.

Double good news, if it comes off:

1. A fresh, untainted by 'Bladeness', bright, young, new manager with proper football principles.
2. Foxy can afford to keep this madhouse going for a bit longer!

Bad news for a minority though: The blue/brownprint goes out of the window. How sad! :) :)

Isn't it strange that someone who thought Alan Smith and Luke Chadwick were worth decent wages, managed to take his club a step back this season (and finish below us) is so highly thought of on here :rolleyes:
 
I'd be happy enough with Robinson - not least because he's far better than most of the others being mentioned. He's also one of the few pundits who ever has anything positive to say about us!

Not convinced myself that his credentials warrant the enthusiasm. 3 failed promotion bids with far more money available than he'll have here. Indeed last season they went backwards and for all the money seemed devoid of the necessary to even get close to the play-offs.

As I've said elsewhere, a better record to trumpet at this level belongs to Russell Slade!

Not sure where this impression people have of MK Dons being big spenders comes from?
KR has not had a significant amount of money to spend. For all Winkleman enjoys an image as a good Chairman - and in many ways he is - he is definitely one of the deep pocket, short arms brigade when it comes to spending.
Robinson has got a great deal from a limited and small squad on limited resources which are apparently are to be restricted even further for the coming season.

See above, it's a bit of a myth that is being repeated often enough such that it gets treated as fact.

I think that derives from the fact that Alan Smith played for them and the idea that he would not play for any club who didn't play him his weight in gold.

I actually think Smith is an example of a player who has made oodles in the PL and is set up for life and is genuinely not now bothered about money and plays for sheer emjoyment. I think Beattie was another example of that. I am pretty sure he played for comparative peanuts for us last season and Accrington will be paying him even fewer peanuts.

That would explain why he played like a monkey for us in 2012.
 
Karl Robinson for me would be a good choice out of all the other names being mentioned. He would bring a freshness to the club which i feel we need. Negativity is inbred in the club at the minute and this needs to be addressed if we are to move forward. He is young yet experienced at this level and likes to play football the correct way. Appointing morgan would only be a backwark step and a money saving employment.

I see many comments about the style of football compared to points. But what do we realy want. People say points over substance but isnt that what Blackwell sack??

I've looked up their figures for 2011/12 and their football club had a turnover of £5.8M, meaning theoretically they can spend £3.75M on players wages. Their parent company had a turnover of £35M ie much healthier than our plc (not that this defines wages).

Their strategy is to have a small first team squad (they often don't name 7 subs) and this caught them out badly this season when Gleason and Chadwick had lengthy injuries.

Our player wages are almost certainly in the £4M to £5M range now. We're shelling out more to ageing pros than them because we are stuck with contracts from the Championship.

I doubt there is a huge difference between MK Dons and ourselves and both clubs have significantly better budgets than most in the division.

They've probably spent more than us transfers wise and the key to what I said was "more than he'll have here" because our budget will reduce again next season. I still say he's had available more or less what Wilson had and has done no better.
