Lee HendrieNew Blades signing Lee Hendrie says he can't wait to get his United career up and running after completing his move to Bramall Lane.
The industrious midfielder, who has signed a three-year deal with the Blades on Thursday, believes that United have all the ingredients to bounce back into the Premiership at the first attempt.
Hendrie said: "It's really exciting. Yes, everyone wants to be a Premiership player, but Sheffield United is a massive club and a club that's going places - it's exciting times. I fancy us to go up this season."
The former England international, who was at Villa Park for 13 years, says that Bryan Robson's influence was a major factor in joining the Blades.
He continued: "I met up with the Gaffer in the week and he gave me some good vibes. He's a great guy and meeting up with him made my mind up for me. Bryan has great ambition - I was speaking to him about this season coming up and he wants to get the club back where it belongs."
Hendrie is delighted with the security that a three-year contract provides him, having spent this summer fretting over his immediate future following his release by Aston Villa.
"I'm pleased with that - three years is superb to be honest and I'm not getting any younger!"
He continued: "I realised that I wasn't going to be signing at Villa again. Bramall Lane isn't a million miles away from the Midlands and I'm just buzzing for a new start."
Hendrie, who won a solitary England cap in a 2-0 friendly win against the Czech Republic in 1998, hopes to make an impact for United.
He added: "The Gaffer will be great to learn off - he knows the midfield inside out - and he'll give me the right advice. He's told me that he wants me to get forward a lot and create.
"I'm looking to go out there, score goals and get the club back where it belongs, but it's not just about myself, it's about the team - we have a solid squad here and the Gaffer's on about bringing more players in."
