I met up with my former boss in Milan last night, i've not seen him since 2004, but i finished working with them a year later. We caught up on the usual things and he mentioned his son, now 19. My dad gave his son a Blades Shirt perhaps 8-9 years ago when his son was 10-11. Apparently he wore the shirt around once per month until he grew out of it, not because he didn' t like it, but because he wanted to preserve it.
He still has the shirt, was wondering on whether it was valuable and is thinking to frame it. My former boss told me that the shirt is treated like the Turin Shroud and he is immensly proud that he has the shirt.
I too have given lots of Blades memorabilia away over the years and on my travels, but i've never really been back to that many places where i've been. So its great to hear that a simple blades shirt is held in such high regard by a Meelan fan!
Once a Blade, always a Blade
